  • My local Aldi. Southport. One lady bought two washing machines and two dryers and they stored them out back for her to pick up later in the day. I never bother with Aldi special deals she clearly had reselljng motives and didnt make eye contact with anyone as the store staff wheeled them out of the store to her truck/s.

    • Or bought for herself and her friend/kids?

      • +2

No they said it on the internet, it must be true.

    • You should go to Aldi in rich ppl suburbs as they don’t go to Aldi to get appliances

  • The Solt 7Kg and Kogan are exactly similar. I couldn’t get the Solt at the time I was looking for a new dryer - this was when we had that time it rained for weeks on end- so I got the Kogan, slightly more expensive but so far so good.

Nice thing it really does use bugger-all power. It does take a while to dry the clothes. I doesn't trash/shrink clothes either.

    • my solar doesn't monitor usage, can you kindly share any kw data per use? or peak kw?

      • I measured energy consumption using one of the TPlinknkasa smart power adaptors

        https://www.tp-link.com/au/home-networking/smart-plug/kp115/

IIRC, a half load used under 2.5kWh in ~3hrs.
I worked out it was less then 70c (assuming 25c/kWh) to do the drying.

The secret too is to dry small things (socks, jocks, etc) separate to larger things as the small stuff gets stuck inside shirts, jumpers, sheets, etc and don't dry, but I use a soctopus dry them mostly.

  • It wa $1100 at good guys when i negotiated with them.
Ended up getting the LG for the brand. Love it. Still would of loved to try the Haier.

  • Nearly the same price as appliancesonline if you add 3yr extra warranty on both cases.

I decided to add 3yr extra warranty when I purchased mine because I don't trust any washing machine brand anymore. Only trust the duration of the warranty, so add 3 yr for a total of 5yr warranty.
