Mate Communication No Longer Doing Static IPs?

Hi All,
I have been with Mate Communication for a few years now and was promised a static IP when i joined.
It just changed and is causing me a LOT of issues, not to mention possible loss of income if i cant get it fixed soon.
I noticed they have nothing mentioned on their site about it. So is anyone else noticing their IPs changing and no longer have the same one?

MATE changed users from Vocus to Wireline resulting in new IP addresses. Some of the IP blocks haven't updated and their location is showing as USA.

ohhh (profanity) that. i wish they would send out these notification to users so they know whats going on.

      • I can't find any new details if MATE are going to give everyone Static IPs with Wireline or charge extra for Static IPs or not offer them at all.

      • I had something similar happy with Uniti, they changed infrastructure to Opticomm and it broke my ability to play Nintendo Switch online. It downgraded my NAT A to NAT D.

Give them a call and say that something that has been working for the last few years with MATE is now not working. Tell them the date and time when you first noticed it and ask if there was any changes from their end that could affect this. If you need to, specifically mention any backend infrastructure change.

Say so due to a change on your end, something that was working perfectly for the past few years is now not working. Can you reinstate the static IP? Make sure you push that it is something you've always had so it doesn't make sense to start charging you for it.

Mate sucks anyway, I'm with them at the moment, buy going back to abb/superloop once I remember to do it.

  • Mate does offer static (I just got it reconnected last may and static ip was applied). The speed is now atrocious at night. I did get a message today:

"We regret to advise that some nbn internet customers located in NSW may be experiencing performance issues including slow speeds and latency. Our network partner is investigating the issue and we will provide a further update once more information is provided. We are extremely sorry for any inconvenience caused."

They have about 10 days to fix it, as my plan will then renew. If it's not resolved I will move out for sure.

    • Me too, been like this for a few days and I raised it with Mate yesterday before getting the notification today. Seems much better tonight but we’ll see how it goes over the next few days.

That’s good. Between 6 and 10pm speed was 3.6 (I’m on 100/20). Luckily my teen gamer is away atm. Just frustrating that it is so bad when you need it the most.

  • VPN for work was extremely slow last night - I had to use my mobile to get a decent connection. Sent a support request to their email - no ticket number and no acknowlegement. Their chat service say they cannot assist.
They say they won't do pro rata credits if cancelling mid billing cycle but I am pushing back.

Will report here (on chat now with them)

  • moved to launtel, getting 440 down now constantly, even at peak times. soooo much better.
