Just a general comment regarding compatible toner: I've used quite a few compatible ones from inkstation and other sellers and wasn't happy at all. With a pretty high chance, shortly after 1st use, they leak and yield white or dark lines or bars on printouts. I had to buy "new" compatible (refilled) ones. Eventually, I couldn't bear it and started to buy genuine ones. It turned out the cost of keep buying compatible ones are likely not significantly cheaper or even higher with a lot of "bonus" troubles than a long-lasting genuine one.

I find that problem toners tend to show immediately, so if it's fine for 20 pages afterwards then it would be fine for the life of the toner.

After a problem black toner from Inkhub, I split on my colour laser, going with genuine on black and generic on colour.

      So far (18 months)
      1/2 problem on generic black
      0/5 problem on generic colour

    • I've been through sixteen toner cartridges from inkstation in the last five years with no problems so far. Even if I had the odd dud they are so much cheaper than genuine for my printer that I reckon I'd stick with it anyway.

I just checked, a full set of toner for my Brother color laser is $900, inkstation is $108.

    • FWIW I was worried about non genuine cartridges but I purchased 2 from Ink Station for my cheapie Fuij Xerox printer and had no issues. Certainly not going to purchase original cartridges that cost more the printer did. I would purchase the same from them again.

    • I've been buying compatible ones from Inkstation for several years without problems. Then a few months back, after installing a generic Printec black toner, the printer started making buzzing noises. There is a small gear at the base of the cartridge that is spun by the printer. The gear on the genuine cartridge can spin easily but the one on the generic cartridge is harder to move causing the printer to exert more force and thus the buzzing noise. Think I'll try a different generic brand elsewhere. Genuine is about 6x more expensive. So not a problem with the toner but the cartridge itself.

  • Thanks, I always order toner for my workplace from Inkstation and never knew about this code

  • Ha, wish I knew about this earlier.

For anyone concerned about non genuine carts, I do a lot of printing from my little Brother laser printer and just buy the cheap-ass ink. Zero problems, works great!

Haven't bought them for my HP though so can't comment on quality.
