sorry i work for Mars lol

  • What size is this? Is it a bar or a block?

  • yes, 92c for how much chocolate?

    • usually only possible to get these from British speciality shops who normally charge about $3 for them. I agree its not a lot of chocolate but it is a good price.

Probably only be popular with expat poms i reckon.

      • Ex-pats might be interested to know that Coles now stocks Minstrels! Found them by chance the other day, they are the 150g bag. Yummy Galaxy choccie, I've missed you!

They look like this but are only $3.00:

        • Good news is my Coles had the Wispa Gold for the correct price. Bad news, the Minstrels were $3.89 not $3.00.

        • They must have been on special last round, I even checked my receipt before posting.

$17.70/ kg?, ….Cadbury.. not very good value.

i think you're missing the point bud

          That it sells normally $40/kg??
          yer, I knows. /highway farud.

          http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/54069 - now this, was a bargain, @2bucks a kilo, & "made with Belgian chocolate" /fyi. (50c a block of 200g)

          cadbury …blergh

  • UK chocolate is the best you should try the UK kit kat its awesome

    • just dont understand why the same chocolate made here tastes so much worse

      • A local confectioner told me that much more of the cocoa butter is now sold off for cosmetics, and the shortening that they replace it with is little better than grease!

        • I actually think it might be to do with australian tastes more than anything but its hard because its not like one brand is considerably better than another (thats readily available)

        • +1

The UK doesn't have a cosmetics industry?

        • Probably not, have you seen most pommy chicks??? :p

Seriously though, perhaps they don't take as much of the CB, or any…who knows. It was suggested to me by a local hawker of sweets, and it sure sounded plausible enough; but all that I do know is that the once great Cadbury tastes like crap now! :(

Highest alcohol consumption rates in the world (in UK. And -you- thought it was in AU, I bet…?)

Could that explain the looks of those pommy chicks" you referred to.

Probably the same reason that Mexican coke is sold as a premium product in the US. Mexican coke uses actual sugar as the sweetener, US coke uses corn syrup. There are regional differences on how things are made, the US ones uses corn syrup since its more heavily subsidised.

Unfortunate name for a chocolate bar!

      with extra padding ;)

  • Jut bought one from Coles and it scanned at $1.91 at St Leonards, NSW.

Not a bargain at this price.

Edit; price is also $1.91 at Sydney Central Coles, is the special price online only?

    • +3

It was in store at surfers paradise coles at 92c….maybe you live in one of those affluent areas where the supermarkets charge you more? ;)

      • Your right.

Picked up a wispa at Coles Broadway and it scanned at 92c

    • Don't know about St Leonards, but Sydney Central Coles won't be included in this special, it's on the back of the catalogue advertising Cadbury medium chocolate bars 92c save 93c. Page 3 says it excludes Coles Express & Coles Central.

  • save your hard earned; 2.59 block.
other premium choc, 75c per 100g.
not gone in one mouthful.. etc

    • Where's that come from (ie, if not bakers chocolate)? Brand / bar ID / size / price please. :-)

(We've been -avoiding- overpriced chocolate since Easter!)

  • those wispa gold are really good, bought them for $0.50 a bar sometime last year at coles though…

  • They're about to become "$2.07/.52g"-topping even the Mars bars and the other generally inflated junk @

Always best to buy in bulk to Save($).
