[NSW] Free Kentucky Snack Pack from 4pm - 8pm @ KFC Food Truck, Roundhouse Venue at UNSW

480

Move out the way HSP’s! KFC’s cult-favourite Kentucky Snack Pack (KSP) is returning to KFC for one night only!

KFC is celebrating the arrival of fellow Kentuckian Jack Harlow in Australia.

Jack Harlow fans looking to get their hands on this bad boy can find it in one place, and one place only: at KFC’s Food Truck outside the Roundhouse venue at UNSW before Jack’s Sydney gig TONIGHT (Tuesday July 26) between 4pm – 8pm.

And the best part – if you can find the truck, your KSP is FREE!

Harlow fan or not, I’m sure anyone would be down for a free KSP.

before you comment "price in title", its $0 :)

    • $0, is that what 'free' means?
      thanks scoop.

      • +7

You'd be surprised how many OzBargainers have a literacy problem.

      • +1

        It's free dollars

        • +2

And how much is this free weekend?

      • +4

'Free' usually means, with the purchase of another full priced item, to approved purchasers only, upon sign up and download of promoter's app, in accordance with rules and conditions of the promotion, not in combination with any other offer or product, isnon transferable, cannot be exchanged for cash or any other item or service, available in select locations to persons over the age of 18yrs and so forth and so on, terms subject to further conditions and consideration, which may change without notice, etcetera.
Note this does not constitute legal or financial advice, and we recommend you consult with a professional adviser before making and decisions regarding any alleged contractual purchase obligations.

        /s

        • If it pleases the OzBargainers

    • -8

Why not add a heart disease warning in title for good measure too? Nothing lower than a global conglomerate selling junk food to a predominately younger (and potentially poorer) audience for quick profits.

      Quite shameful that UNSW approves.

  • -4

Imagine schlepping into the middle of sydney for a 'free' $5 popcorn chicken go bucket in a tray.

    • +22

This is ozbargain. I'd still go even if the food truck was on Mount Everest.

      • -4

Geez, that might be on HinduBargain if it was there.
I see the transit time, bridge and tunnel tolls, costs of petrol (or cost of bus/train tickets) as prohibitively expensive to get a $5 snack. Especially when theres a KFC 10min away, 25min round trip (including order time).
Maybe its the bargain hunter or the Scottish ancestry, but spending 2hrs to 'save' $5? No thanks.

        • +6

While I personally wouldn't fly down to Sydney for this deal, there's many thousands who will be nearby for other reasons. Some of those people may see this deal and score some KFC which they would have missed out on otherwise :)

          • -5

@DiscountForThee: I fully understand that if you are there for the show, live or study/work in the area then its a quick walk to get a snack, but calling it NSW bargain, or promoting 'anyone can come' is not a true bargain (for me anyway, I'm only 20km from roundhouse).

            • +1

              @Brian McGee:

'… for me anyway, I'm only 20km from roundhouse'

News-flash Bobby: It's not all about you.

              • @GnarlyKnuckles: But But But, why not?

And thanks for taking the comment out of context, it was a reply the the ‘I’d go to Everest for a food truck” statement. No one would do that. No one’s going further than their local KFC for a snack pack, and if anyone says they will are lying.
I said if you’re in the area it’s worth a look, but let’s not kid ourselves

          • +5

@DiscountForThee: There has be numerous occasions where I've gotten free stuff from train stations that I would not have had I not taken a cheeky scroll on Ozb

      • +1

        UNSW, are you uni student?

        • +2

          Nope.. i'm a graduate. I work at McDonald's.

          • +2

@Savas: Traitor, it should be maccas food truck lol.

    • +1

I don't eat KFC's chicken, but this is a good deal.

Here's hoping this is a new trend for food trucks, which have been selling takeout at restaurant prices for far too long in Australia.

      • -4

Shocking to think this could be viewed as a deal - unless your definition amounts to higher cholesterol and heart disease being desirable.

KSP is my favorite thing to get when its available. Because its not something they serve all the time it confuses staff who haven't seen it before.

I've had them accidentally give me an entire box filled with popcorn chicken before because they didn't realise what it was.

  • +5

    KFC has a food truck?

  • +1

This is my favorite item on the secret menu. Does anybody know what sauce they put on this and where I can get it? Thanks in advance.

    • +3

Not a snack pack if it doesn't include the holy trinity of BBQ, garlic and chilli sauce.

Looks like supercharged sauce from the picture.

      • +3

Not a snack pack without kebab meat.

    • +1

      pretty sure it's supercharged

    • +1

It's supercharged sauce. If anyone knows a place to buy it I'm keen too

  • +1

    is it halal?

    • +4

No, that's why it is called KSP

  • +1

    (profanity) Did uni start already!

    • +6

UNSW is on trimester so I think they are in term 2 week 9 at the moment (almost exam).

  • +2

When they say outside is it still inside the area reserved for uni students / patrons? Some gigs they close off the whole area (and Jack is an international headliner). I don’t want to get there and find the area is out of limits

    • +2

On the Facebook event for the concert, it said the doors open at 7 pm.. so I thought this must be separate.

      • +2

Good logic I’ll try get there before 7 and have a look

        • +1

I was a bit worried because I thought the same thing. This news article says you don’t need to attend the concert or be a uni student..

          • +2

@Savas: Been lining now told by official 2 hour wait. I have come from the city so I’m going to stick it out

  • +2

    Mmmmmm… cabbage…..

  • +1

This used to be my favorite secret menu item. Such a shame it's no longer available on the app

  • +3

thanks for the find! Im conveniently at UNSW today c:

  • +4

With KFC's signature soft & soggy chips? Nty, that's not very HSP

  • +3

Conveniently quite close by and in need of a feed so will tag along :) thanks OP

Watch the line be an hour long.

  • +1

Thanks mate, I'll grab one after my lecture since it's on the way to the light rail anyway.

  • +1

    Anyone know the location yet?

    EDIT:
    Date: Tuesday, 26 July
Time: 4.00 pm until 8.00 pm
Where: The KFC Food Truck outside The Roundhouse, Anzac Parade, UNSW Sydney, Kensington NSW 2052

  • +2

    Who is jack harlow?

    • +1

Popular rapper amongst the younger demographic.

  • +3

They are actively turning people away as of 17.29. Approached the back of the line manned by 2 staff saying they're ending the line here. Plenty of hungry uni students eating up all the supply I presume. Line seemed shorted than I thought it would have been

    • +2

Yes 2 hour ETA for existing hungry patrons

    • +2

found someone just now 5:40pm said he waited from 4pm-5:30pm. long times and slow serving times.

    • +2

The line got shorter afterwards and they allowed ppl to join again

  • +2

Actually only took me an hour :) not much sauce on my one but overall a good effort by the truck

    • +1

Nice to hear .. not bad… once I waited an hour for a free donut.

  • +2

Went near the end barely any line or waiting. Got my goodies in about 10 min

    • +1

Very nice!! I would've been worried if they run out.
