Help to Fix Samsung Galaxy S7 Tablet App Display

Hi everyone. I have a new Samsung Galaxy s7 tablet and all good bar one problem: when I open some of my apps, they are too big for the screen. This is particularly annoying if there are in-app ads, and you can't see the x to close the ad.

I've trawled this site, YouTube, Samsung help, and even joined reddit, but no success. They only propose the screen zoom in settings, but this doesn't affect the display ratio for the apps and ads.

Would appreciate any help, please.

  • My guess is the developers didn't optimise those apps for the s7

  • +1

Can you give name of the apps with this issue?

    • They're old, basic ones: Wordscapes, Woodstock, 250+Solitaire, Crown, and Hearts.

  • Apps sound like free dodgy games.

Does it happen with legit apps?

    • Only with the old ones, so you're probably right.

  • Dodgy websites or dodgy apps?

    • They've been OK apps until now. Very basic.

  • There's a hidden method to change DPI in the developer settings. Worth having a look

  • Thanks for the comments.

I'll try upgrading to more modern versions of those apps - as you can see they're mainly card and word games to relax. If you have any suggestions, that's cool. If not, I'll just go with the better-rated newer ones on Google Play.

Might still try the DPI change, as it's an awkward screen shape fir some other functions.

  • I have a Galaxy A7 & I somehow got my screen upside down. I am new to the A7 & I don't know what I did, but I did it.
Could someone help me get the screen the right way up. It is fine at login, then after that, she goes to a land downunder
