Moto G7 Plus (Dual Sim 4G/3G, 6.24", 64GB/4GB) $150 New - Good Value?

Looking for an inexpensive dual sim phone with NFC and decent camera with a separate microSDXC card slot.

I know the Moto G7 Plus was released in 2019 but is there anything else that matches its features for around $150 or less?

Thanks

  • Keep in mind that it'll most likely only do VoLTE on Vodafone, 3G is becoming less and less useful, and it's long past getting updates.

When I replaced my Moto G6 Plus about four months ago, I settled on an Oppo A74 5G to get all the features that I wanted, but it's more than double what you want to spend.

    • Thanks. Could you explain why VoLTE may only be available on Vodafone please.

      • That's my experience with a Moto G6 Plus, and there's no mention of the Moto G7 Plus supporting VoLTE on Telstra in the wiki on Whirlpool. The Moto G7 thread on Whirlpool suggests that the Moto G7 Power supports VoLTE on Telstra, but not the Plus.

        • I trawled through the Whirlpool Moto G7 thread but could find nothing that indicates that Telstra has so far enabled VoLTE for the Moto G7 and G7 Plus, although not been much conversation has occurred there for a couple of years.

It seems, though, that each type of device needs to be explicitly enabled. https://forums.whirlpool.net.au/thread/98m27ln3?p=36#r657498…

I don't see much hope of Telstra doing this for a three year old phone. Thanks for alerting me to this limitation.

  • Moto G7 Power is where it's at - battery lasts for days. These are great phones, except I have to say that their one flaw is that they are a little underpowered. Otherwise very functional and extremely good value for money.
