[Hack] Free Burrito for Existing App Users by Switching to Facebook or Google Sign-in @ Guzman Y Gomez

1910

Requires a Google or Facebook account
Here's how it worked for me;

  1. Sign out of the current logged in session
  2. Log back in with Facebook account or Google account
  3. On the front page of the app you should see 'Claim free burrito' or something along the lines of it.
  4. Follow prompts and enjoy

I have previously claimed a free burrito through the same phone but this worked again!

This may also work with 'Sign in with Google' but can someone please check and update? (I do not have a gmail account)

Edit -Thanks doweyy- Using Google signup worked for me, I signed up using a new Gmail that hasn't been used at GYG before and used the same phone number as an existing account. Credit showed on the home page as described

    Didn't work for me

Didn't work for me… Maybe they closed the loophole?

    • Yeah, definitely doesn't work.

  • +1

    Didn’t work

Edit: Google sign in also didn’t work even though it’s a different email

Edit edit: Google sign in did actually work, took a while for the reward to come up in app

    Requires a Facebook account

    Not worth it then

    • +4

      Be careful being so edgy.

      • +3

its not edgy, its true kek

        • +8

74.7% of Australia's population has a Facebook account. I'd say not having one (especially someone who's not aged from 0-12 and 70-110) would certainly make you the edge case.

          • @PainToad: Honestly doesn't matter at this point, considering fb has shadow accounts on everyone

            • @krisspy: What's a Facebook shadow account?

              • +3

@dust: Shadow profile I mean. Basically even though you dont have a fb account, fb collects enough data from your friends to build a profile about you. Facial recognition from a photo you photo bombed, contact lists people agree to let fb get their grubby hands on.

          • +5

@PainToad: And how many of those accounts are fake? I’m asking for Elon

  • +2

Didn't work for me on FB or Google.
Maybe your FB uses a different email address than the one you were logged in under? That could look like a new user.

  • Can confirm works with gmail

  • Didnt work for me either.

  • +2

    Works for me! Thanks

  • Exisiting?…..huh?

  • Didn't work for me but worth a try!

  • +7

Using Google signup worked for me, I signed up using a new Gmail that hasn't been used at GYG before and used the same phone number as an existing account. Credit showed on the home page as described.

    Facebook signup didn't for me.

    • Are you using Android or iOS? When I press sign up on Android, it logs me in automatically to the account I was logged into before.

      • Try to clear cache and browsing data and re-try, it should work then.

    • Cheers doweyy. Worked like a charm. Just ordered.

  • Also worked for me using the method doweyy described

  • Using google account worked for me

  • Worked for Google, not for facebook. Same phone number
    Lunch sorted. Cheers OP!

  • Anyone tried on same phone number a third time?

  • Do you have to select subscribe to marketing? Not seeing it.

  • Worked for Google not Facebook.
No need to subscribe to marketing.

Standard burrito only. No extras included.

  • I'm not seeing it 😭

  • +1

Worked for me via Google sign in. Thanks OP!

  • I've tried clearing cache but no luck for me.

Didn't work for me. You know sometime, this kind of hack, might be better not posted here as a deal. Because, sooner or later, they will fix it. Start the forward message chains like the old man way lol

  • +1

google and fb didn't work, but signing in with apple (hide my email address option) worked. thanks OP

  • Made new account, got an email about the gift, but can’t see it..

    • Ditto

  • Legend! Thanks - hopefully they don't remove them somehow.

  • So it's my first time to sign up…where can I find it?!

  • +1

Works via google sign-up on the app, thanks.

  • Make sure to restart app if you don’t see it

  • +2

Tried with two android and one apple login on IOS. Account are created and I've received an email about the free burrito but there is nothing in the app.

    • I also got the email but nothing in the app. Two google and one Facebook account for me.

  • Thanks doweyy it works. I miss the days when the password/website someone gave me on here used to give unlimited $11.90 meals.

    • +2

      fair enough
at least the reward is a burrito itself rather than 11.90, i.e. it has been adjusted for inflation (now 12.50). thanks gyg 😂

  • Google sign in just made me sign up for a new account and even that didnt work, using same mobile atatched to my reg account

  • You should be able to rinse and repeat this deal.

After getting your free burrito, go into the account settings in the app, scroll to the bottom and delete your account.

    • +10

Buy someone lunch and you feed them for a few hours. Show them OzBargain and they will dine free for a lifetime…

  • No dice for me

  • Doesn't work

  • Worked for me just now with google

  • +1

I love this shop and their food. Will skip this hack to save them some pain.

    • -2

Agree, why Broden a fair business?

    • And they give free food during the openings…

    • +2

I think they're a rip, and average tasting. I'd take one free to even it up, but tbh I still don't want to eat there.

I do appreciate your sentiment though, i just think GYG is meh

      • +2

Lol yeah not like this is some mum and pop corner store getting reamed. And they've never been generous with the meat vs the rice filling. Unfortunately partner likes them so can't avoid going there.

        • Yeah it was $$, comprising mostly rice, wages, rent and profit.

      • I agree it's not great (Zambrero's much better), but still think they're a decent business - certainly far better than Grill'd.

        • I wouldn't eat at any of the above. Spend the extra $2-3 and go to a decent burger place

  • grr I can't get to the bottom of pages for GYG on my s22, it cuts out the button on the bottom.

    • rotate the screen

      • I tried that, I can't navigate down when I do that either, so, either way, can't get to the button at the bottom of the page

  • +1

Not working for me. Won't even let me delete my account

  • Worked using google account signup. Never even had an account before

  • No good for me

  • Can you save it for another day?

  • Didnt work for me, logging in with facebook (not sure if i used this method originally)
But i did sign in with google account which has different email and have the burrito in my hand. Using same phone number as other account/s doesnt seem to matter

  • I tried both with no luck

  • Will I need another phone number?

    • no

  • Not a fake Facebook login page?

  • +1

I could register with Gmail account but not luck to get the free burrito, even I received the welcoming email…

  • Gmail method worked well, thanks Op & Doweyy

  • Worked with apple id.

  • -3

The other day I saw a guy trip in a Guzman Y Gomez, and they didn't even offer him a voucher.

  • +6

OP, did you get your original free burrito in the old app or the new one? When they bought the new app out a few months ago the signup burritos got refreshed. I think this might be what you are seeing, not a glitch on the social logins.

Could not get this to work on iOS, even after deleting the app through Settings to remove the data. Tried my personal Gmail with a GOMEX account tied to it along with a Gmail and Facebook account each with seperate emails and no GOMEX account tied to them.

    • Good point.

    • -1

Pretty sure I’ve never had the old app and this is my second free burrito

    • +2

My two running theories are your one.. where the initial free burrito was claimed on the old app, or there's an unspecified time where the free burrito resets.

I claimed the initial free burrito earlier this month, but the Google and Facebook methods didn't work for a second free burrito.

  • Gmail method worked just fine. Thanks, OP!

  • It is under the 'Promotions' section? I only have two listed there…

    'Big brekkie burrito'
    '$2 barista made coffee'

Or does it automatically get added to your GYG dollars? In my case it only shows $0.10

  • Don't see it in my app..

  • Does this still work? Maybe no…

  • Expires 4th feb 2023. I hope there is plenty of time to redeem.

  • Just got it to work signing up with a google account

  • not working

  • +1

Maybe this is based on location. Anyone from WA get this working?

    • not working with google or facebook :/

  • Facebook worked for me! Expirary is next year so I'm hoping that this deal doesn't get cancelled before I get a chance to use it!

    • ooft, triggers me to that 7-11 fuel lock time, thinking i could stretch that ~$1.30/L lock to the 7/7th day.. then they removed them

  • +1

Worked immediately for me, free burrito banner showed up. You can order whatever you want and it deducts $12.50 when you get to checkout.

Signed in with Apple. Same mobile number.

  • Worked for me using Google sign up. Thanks OP

  • +1

    not working WA

  • I logged in with my old account t accidentally and now it does let me sign in with different account even though I Uninstalled it
I also tried to change my default Google account in my s22 but doesn't work. Not sure how they do that

    • Found my fix..U need to sign up next time also not try to sign in..I also tried the +1 with my Gmail but it can't recognize it

    • how did you change the default google account?

      • So u just need to sign up instead of sign in when using new account

  • Think they fixed it.

I had to create a new account.

  • Google sign up didn't work 😥
