  • Too many limitations. The 5 transactions is bad enough, but having to increase your balance each month is ridiculous - compared to others like Ubank.

  • I opened the Savings Maximiser account in late July and met all the eligibility criteria for August however only received the standard interest on 1st September.

I called ING and they advised the bonus interest will be added on 1st October as I met eligibility criteria for August. Does this sound correct?

Sounds odd. If you opened it late July you should have got bonus interest in July plus for August as this is what I am sure they do as meeting July criteria can be very difficult especially if card arrived late in the month. Meeting August criteria does qualify you for bonus interest the following month which is September as you have been told and interest will be paid 30 September not 1 October. I would send a message or call again and have the matter escalated. BTW - Virgin Money now have a better rate, higher balance and no need to grow balance.

      • I agree. It does not sound correct.

Ubank is already offering 3.35%. Not very appealing.

From 1 October 2022.. just give ING a day or two.
