    Good write up OP!

It appears to be QLC and cannot seem to find a review for the 2TB version. There is controller lottery between SM2263XT and Phison E13T. Doesn't matter which one, it's still DRAMless and 4 channels (cost effective range basically).

Like majority of QLC SSDs, you want to try your best to utilise the dynamic SLC cache and avoid using QLC mode as much as possible. Don't get me wrong, there are certainly ways to utilise this type of SSDs.

This Crucial P2 is cheaper if you add in $1.75 item linked but the kingston is not bad for local stock

  • Anyone know if this will fit inside a laptop?

If laptop's motherboard got "M.2 2280 form factor", then yes. Just check manufacturer page for specs or put laptop model number here.

This is m.2 2280 size. Some laptops take this size, others use smaller sizes — depends on the device, you'll have to look up the model.

If it's an old device it may not have an m.2 slot at all, and others have no expandable storage full stop.

Not just M.2, but also need to support NVMe.

  • good for everything else except if you're someone who constantly writes 100GB+ of data on a day to day basis.

    • Not great for project’s (video editing, animation etc) but still an alright deal

  • Thanks for clarifying about PS5. With +Extra I am filling up my base storage and 2TB HDD very quickly now. Need a bigger HDD and an M.2.

  • I've got the 1TB version in a laptop. Absolutely fine performance, the SLC cache makes everything plenty fast for media consumption, office work, light creative work and engineering design programs such as Civil 3D and Autocad.
