These are around the $30 mark for queen size everywhere.. Eg Katie's / temple and Webster.. The only benefit is the free shipping.

Thanks for not putting the over inflated rrp in the title though 🙂

      are they any good though?

      • +1

I would like to know the same

      • This is what I’d like to know…

Bamboo Rich = 30% bamboo and 70% microfibre? Sounds more like Bamboo poor to me.

    • +7

Yeah I've always wondered about the threshold for terms like "cotton rich" in sheets.

Is it because "it's a bit rich to call it cotton"?

    • +6

I only buy 100% cotton sheets. Same with blankets. Synthetic fibres make you sweat. The difference is night and day (in my experience). Really sad that most places sell these synthetic blends nowadays. Having said that, Woolworths sells 100% cotton sheets and they're frequently on sale half price for about $14.

…. currently on sale too :)

    2000 thread count + 70% microfibre blend ≠ Highly-breathable with moisture-wicking properties

    • +2

sounds like sleeping in step ones

      • From their thermals range

  • Thread count seems abnormally high?

    • +6

Microfibre has different properties to cotton.

This is an interesting article for anyone who thinks that higher threadcount = better
      https://www.thehotelsheet.co.nz/blogs/news/the-truth-about-1…

      • That's a good read, sounds like a genuinely honest business too. Any captain around care to chime in on bamboo / microfibre blend percentages? cost, longevity?

        Thanks for the post OP.

      • Thank you, great article.

The higher end sheet they sell costs more than my bed frame! And I'm pretty happy with my crappy sheets. So I probably won't be buying from them. But I really appreciate when an expert does a write up that cuts through all the marketing nonsense.

  • Thanks Op. ordered some.

  • Thanks OP - White king sheet sets for $30 is a bargain!

    • It's still just rayon.

      • sorry, where does it say that ? thought it would be 100% bamboo

        • 'These Bamboo cotton blend sheet set has been made with the finest 50 % bamboo and 50 % cotton fibres, the naturally silky smooth and unique sheen of the bamboo protects your skin against any irritation.'

          • @tonyjzx: no I meant the 50% bamboo component is actually 100% bamboo

            didnt mean its all bamboo

  • +7

    This isn't bamboo, it's rayon.

You're just dumping chemicals on bamboo to extract cellulose and produce rayon. By the time you've finished that process it could have come from any number of plants and cannot be called bamboo nor does it have any of the alleged benefits of bamboo (which are probably all BS anyway, given the people that make those claims do exactly what you do)

I hope you get done for false advertising

    • I have some shirts that are 100% rayon and I absolutely love them. Though I wasn't aware of the downsides you raise, thanks for that.

    • Where do get the bedding made of bast bamboo fiber?

      • There's a mechanical machine that can do it. I honestly doubt anyone uses them

  • What has bamboo plant en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bamboo got to do with bedding?

  • How do these breath in the summer? 1000-1200tc which i've used in the past were too hot for me personally. Found it very heavy and stuffy. 2000tc….. can only imagine

  • always find pure bamboo. say no to bamboo blend. world of a difference.
