ALDI or Big W 55 Inch TV?

Our TV died and I need a cheap replacement. It's for our lounge room.

Aldi has a 55 inch Qled for $569.

Big W also has a 55 inch Qled for $569.

It seems like the Big W one might be the better deal as it has local dimming and Dolby vision?

  • Does your local ALDI have stock? These tend to sell out pretty quick.

    • Yep they've got a couple. Local big W also has stock.

  • Big W is only $499 from what I can see

Or step up to a 70" for $649

  • Facebook marketplace old Samsung Sony Toshiba

Image is a bit blurry on motion sports.

    Fine for some people but

The ALDI one you can return within 60 days if you do not like it, but with BigW you cannot return it if you do not like it. But you should be able to see the TV running at BigW to see what it looks like, which you cannot at AlDI.

Both have similar specs. The sound out of both will probably suck compared to a soundbar or receiver due to the size of the speakers and the orientation.

No matter which one you buy be careful how you transport it home and make sure it's uprights and video the unpacking from start to finish in case the panel has any issues.

  • If price is the only considerations, BigW I would suggest. You can get cheaper by using discount giftcards. Aldi will charge 0.5% cc fees.
Aldi TV used to be most popular here. Only only ever I had to return a TV, it was Aldi. Although there service was good. Returned no questions asked. As I did not have the receipt on me, they could not refund the CC fees.
We have a BigW TV bought couple of years back. It does its job. Interface is slow, but I used it with MiBox3 and never had any dramas.

Ok thanks for your help all. Got the big W one. Seems to be working well. More responsive than my old Hisense 4k.
