    Hey google mute the TV

    works for me

  • Just hit the mute button or go round the grounds when ads are on…

but if you invented one that would auto ignore the ads… you'd be rich

  • On off switch into the OFF position fixes ALL ads!

    • You also don't know when your show resumes again, Good try kid….

I remember back in the day there was talk of a VCR that would pause recording when it detected the black frame between a tv show and the ads, then resume recording when it saw the black frame between the ads and the show. When you watched your recorded show later on, no ads.

    Those were the days.

    • good idea

For those that want a trip down memory lane from 1995.

I remember when you were watching a show and VCR recording at the same time you could pause the recording using one of these with a 15ft cable.

Invariably you would forget to unpause and the family would hate on you for the rest of the week. Fun times.

      • Great vcr. Where can i buy one?

Record it all, don’t watch it live. Then fast forward thru all the crud. Sport is much better like this watch it 45 minutes after it starts, it will be live by the end.

  • Can’t help you with your question… but kids wanted to watch the comm games swimming events on 7 catch-up. Started watching, and then there was a 10min countdown of ads!!

    • I Couldn’t even see much sport. It was mostly just talking and interviews on channel 7

  • what’s always cheesed me off is the stations denying that the ads are louder (than the program)

  • Ive been dreaming of this for 20 years, especially on radio. I doubt you will find an app for TV but if you use your laptop and browser there are extensions which block ads on youtube and some catchup sites. Use Brave browser and maybe another ad blocker.

  • People watch tv on a laptop lol

  • If you have Google Tv or a media streaming device you can install a Kodi and this plugin https://www.matthuisman.nz/2017/08/au-freeview-kodi-add-on.h… There are no ads at all and all episodes are available
