The price of a 3 month code seems to have gone down since original post. Total cost comes up much cheaper.
I've copied the following instructions from the original post.

Purchase 8 codes
Redeem code on http://redeem.microsoft.com/ or your xbox
Enroll for auto renewal to get one extra month
Turn off auto renew
Repeat 7 more times
Purchase Game Pass for $1 or $15.95(whichever is applicable to you) from https://www.xbox.com/en-AU/xbox-game-pass

New User:
(8 x 7.92)+ 5.4 + 1= 63.36+5.4+1= $69.76 ($ 1.99 per month for 35 months - new users will get 3 months added during step 6)

Lapsed User:
(8 x 7.92)+ 5.4+15.95= 63.36+5.4+15.95= $84.71 ($2.56 per month for 33 months - lapsed users will only get 1 month added during step 6)

      Yeh there can be a delay of up to 24 hours after your sub expires due to timezone differences. (I don't know why it doesn't use our timezone)

I'm about 26 days away from lapsing my current membership, three years for around $100 sounds like a real bargain!

That said, I'm not actually playing the XBox (or MS games on PC) so much at the moment so not getting it at all sounds like an even bigger bargain… Still, something to consider over the next couple of weeks before I can do anything about it.

Hi Thankyou for the deal OP. I do have a question for anyone. I have put in the 8 codes got until 2025 but when i click the game pass link , it said join now for $1, But above that it says "join now to get your first month for a dollar"? Is this only good for just 1 month or does it convert my 33 months for a dollar.? Sorry but its a bit confusing and i wont click until i know I'm not stuffing everything up. Cheers

  If you've claimed your Gold, once you buy the game pass it will convert all the time on your gold membership too

        @Hjak: The Turkey VPN method still works. Just bought a year worth at $7.xx per 3 months and redeemed via Turkey VPN (ironically I used the keep solid vpn that was posted today)

  It has never stopped working (even the VPN method). It just depends what price you are willing to pay for.

Do you still get the bonus 1 month with each 3 month code activated when auto renew is off?

I know it's gone up to $14.34 AUD but it's still cheaper than game pass ultimate outright

    I've been redeeming Gold codes and it hasn't ever asked me to turn on auto-renew for a free month. I get a message saying "welcome to Game Pass" and check my subscriptions, only for it to say I've definitely redeemed it for Gold and should resubscribe for Gamepass.

      You need to turn off auto renew manually before every redemption. Also are you sure you don't have an existing game pass sub?

        @wangasm: Auto renew is always off after I redeem it and it never asks about it. I definitely don't have Game Pass because it's basically SCREAMING at me to upgrade to Game Pass (and it says it's lapsed in the subscriptions).

I think I got burned here - bought 8 codes for Turkey from ENEBA, tried adding them to my account, one worked but I got no request to add a month if I turned on auto renewal. Even worse, then I got an error redeeming the second one - "PUR-ConversionBlockedCurrencyCountryMismatch" - and it won't let me add more Turkey based coupons to my Aus account.

    It allowed the first addition, and I tried to do the "game pass for a month" renewal, but it's apparently Aus locked because of this. I have the other codes and when the current one expires in December I will try using the VPN and adding them. A pain, but some hope and I hope it'll work. Thanks for following up!

  This error may happen if you don't use a VPN, Or use a bad one (Note not all "Turkey" VPNs work). Did you use a VPN here when redeeming the codes?

My last three years lapsed over the weekend so I was ready to go through all this again but have missed all the good deals.

I'm tempted to buy up a bunch of these global cards anyway at their more normal rate of AU$14.89 each for a total of AU$178.68 (less any bonus months you can get along the way and plus conversation at the end. It's no $90 for sure, but it's still less than $5.50 a month).

Definitely do not recommend waiting to use the codes like I did. Tried to use them today and 6 out of 8 were already redeemed.

When I contacted Eneba about it they refunded my order, I'm grateful for that and it's the least they could do. I would have preferred code replacements, now I only have a subscription until May and have wasted a lot of time buying these codes, communication back and forth, etc…

  The conversion from Live to Ultimate seems to always work, it's just a matter of how cheap you can get the live codes and the various discounts that come and go.
