  What is the need for the battery? Does it vibrate or something?

  I have the Schick 5, 1 cartridge lasts me about 6 months, I clean the blades and feel like new and last forever.

    Yes it does vibrate. Has three 'speed' settings and a battery level indicator. Details found here

  good price but the shaver is clunky, not as precise as the Gilette Machs!

  Thanks for this, it was cheaper than buying new blades by themselves. Another razor to chuck on the pile I guess.
