[SA, QLD] Samson Q2U Microphone $82 + Delivery ($0 C&C) @ Umart

60

Seen a lot of positive reviews about the Samson Q2U for gaming/podcasts/video calls. I am personally looking to buy a microphone and came across this deal and thought I would post it here in case anyone else was also in the market for a mic. Reviews seem to state it has good sound quality and does a good job at keeping unwanted noises out of the audio. It has both XLR and USB connectivity for those who want flexibility with input methods or who are thinking of upgrading their audio setup down the line.

Note: prices are now applicable for SA stores and some Queensland stores.

$89 for all other states.

This is the mic people review to generate referral clicks after a string of recommendations 5+ years ago. There are better options today, particularly if you're looking at XLR mics.

As a basic starter, get a Behringer XM8500 ($30) and find yourself an interface. It may even sound better with a basic USB-to-XLR cable than the Q2U will ever sound.

    • When researching mics, there were definitely a lot of positive comments under reviews for the Q2U, especially when accounting for the accessories its meant to come with, both of which grabbed my attention. Thank you for the heads up btw, I'll look into the XM8500. Are there any specific interfaces you recommend or alternatively, a similarly priced and performing usb mic?

      • In this price range and below the choices oddly tend to be condenser microphones, such as the HyperX SoloCast (ideally $50) and the Razer Seiren X (ideally $70).

      +1 for the xm8500

Quick eq and it'll sound pretty great too.

This mic has a bug when used with a PC, if the mic is connected when the PC is turned on it will broadcast ultra loud noise until you restart it by pulling out the usb cable. It's a design fault of this model, I'd avoid for PC USB use.

    • Like static/hiss?

      • static so loud your friends will hate you for broadcasting it at them over voip.

        • Thanks for the tip, will avoid 'Samson'

    • Been using this mic for a year now usb to pc and have never experienced this

      • It's likely some setups don't cause the bug, I managed to get mine to behave by plugging it into my monitor usb hub and using a usb2 port, if I change that setup at all it bugs out again when I restart my computer.
