  • 🤔

    travel, portrait camera

But what if you want landscape ?

    • Yes, this is nice and wide would be great for landscapes, this is the equivalent of the classic nifty fifty

    • Do a pano merge if you need wider.

  • 2nd hand $100 e-m10

Really? That cheap? I had one before and sold it

    • you often find them for this price on FB market place, I bought a vii on the weekend for my wife for $150. I have the vi it does everything I could ever want, I just buy better glass for it.

The E-M1 Mark II deal with bonus Pro f/1.2 glass has ruined deals like this for me. I'm still mad I missed out all these years later haha. Here's the deal for reference https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/568450. Cracking value.

Still rocking my E-M1ii. Sold the 45mm I chose to go with it, but it was a lovely lens. Awesome deal.

    • I love the 45 1.8.

      • +1

love the 45, but i love the 75 more HAHA nevermind having to take…like 20 steps back to get anything more than a headshot.

        • That is the downside of this lens. People think it's going to have great subject isolation because it's so long and f1.8, but since you need to step backwards a long way from your subject (compared to a 45), this actually reduces the subject-background separation. Seen a lot of shots from this lens with busy backgrounds. Not a very useful general-purpose lens, although great focal length for landscapes.

        • +1

the 75 is awkward and has almost no use case but it is the one lens that live on my camera, and it was this best money I have spent.

          • @base2aau: haha yep it is ridiculous trying to balance (it doesnt) on an em5mkii

            • +1

              @Jimothy Wongingtons: The 25mm f1.2 isn't actually too bad on an em5.

I use the 40-150 f/2.8 on an em5mkiii - the lens balances the body!

              • @lasertip:

                40-150 f/2.8

i remember having a hands on with this lens and thinking, dang this thing is a beast. very beautiful lens though.

                • +1

@Jimothy Wongingtons: It's a lovely lens, yes. Don't much enjoy results of using the tele-convertors on it, but alone it produces beautiful images.

      • It was the 45 1.2 (by redemption)…and oh so creamy smooth bokeh!

I do retain the 45mm 1.8 though…pretty excellent bang for buck that indeed!

  • Was $2100, are you serious? This hardly compares favourably to a $300 50mm f1.8 lens on a full-frame system.

    • $300 50mm f1.8 lens on a full-frame system.

      f1.8 v f1.2 tho

      • FF equivalent DOF of 50 / 2.4

  • Cracking deal.. Gas kick :(.
