Will Samsung Galaxy S2 drop in price???

With the release of the SG3, when do you think the S2 will drop in price? What is the norm? weeks or months… I know they are not like Iphones who hold their value…

  • I don't see why they wouldn't as an upgrade has been released. I think it will take some months to drop drastically but I want it to be soon as i'm going overseas in 3 weeks and would like to get one before then.

  • I want to buy one too.. But I will only buy outright.. I dont want to pay 450 for it since the new one is here..

  • Is there a new 4.3" model? If not they may not drop the price point as people that don't want a phone as big as the S3 will still be buying the S2

(ie I have a S2 and wouldn't buy anything any bigger as it just doesn't fit my pocket)

  • The price wont drop that much. I remember for a long time after the s2 was released the s1 was still selling for $400 or more. I think they will continue to hover around the same price for a while.

I think the S2 will hold its price for a while and then decrease slowly (in about 3-4 months or so). However, do not expect it to cost $200 - it will more be like $349 or so. Right now the S2 sells well at its current price so there is no reason to lower it. Samsung is already at capacity in its factories (the S3 alone has 9.5 million pre-orders) so there is not reason to stimulate demand by lowering prices.

S1 is still selling for $350, amazingly enough there are people buying at that price. Don't expect S2 to drop much in price.
