Endler Guppy Breeding Pair $9.99 ($5 Each) + $12 Postage @ Sydney Aquascapes

90

$9.99 for a male and female Endler Guppy pair! If you wanted to try breeding some fish these are some of the easiest you can have a go at. All postage is combined, so it is $12 flat no matter how much you buy. Please also note these are not pure strain, but a guppy mixed strain.

If you would like a different mix of Males and Females, just leave a note, we are happy to try our best if we have the stock.

Endler Guppies are live-bearers. They don't lay eggs but instead bear their fry (baby fish) already hatched. Take care of the babies with either finely ground flakes, or a lot of moss or algae on a well-established aquarium.
The parents can eat their children, and although we personally have not had many issues with this, separating them is never a bad idea.
If you are new to fishkeeping, we recommend you read this. It should be all you need to get started!

Please note we will be sending all parcels together next week Monday (22nd).

Feel free to ask us any questions you have.

    • Can I ask what's against the rules?

      • +4

Aus post has an official policy against any live animals being posted. This means that if the parcel is delayed or lost they will not refund you or compensate in any way if the animal dies in transit.

We use breather bags in a large box with plenty of water. Breather bags are special bags which allow oxygen flow though the plastic which stops them suffocating.

In general we have about a ~5% DOA rate for fish and we guarantee a refund or replacement all DOA for anything we sell.

please go into more detail as to your packages + markings on packages … I work within the AU freight network, and sadly have seen some bad endings of fish being sent.

Also … any % of DOA is no good in my books - especially since talking about live animals (yes, even fish).

        [EDIT] …
eg. do you put "fragile" stickers on box? - although not officially abided by - more a suggestion to freight handlers.

Unless you go to the "official/internally used fragile stickers" which are 100% abided by … (but will then cost extra $$$ in freight charges) …. Otherwise your box could be at bottom of a smalls cage with over 400kg of weight baring down on it.

Many other things as well, which I probably feel that you should be doing to make sure that your fish are delivered in a happy/healthy/live state … but then bottom line/etc,

We do in general, but thanks for the tips, I'll look into how they are marked and make sure its done properly.

        • You would be shocked to here how most of our fish are imported from SEA. Unfortunately DOA is quite common.

Is there a true moral difference between the death of fish we use as pets and fish we eat as food?

          • +2

@Save Medicare: I'm always puzzled by selective empathy. People cry foul over the slow release of game fish and are completely oblivious to the live bait fish with the hook through its back having a slow death.
Same the people that complain about zoos being cruel while they happily put ratsack in their roofs.

@tonka: Like I get it if it's a fish that belongs to someone and has been looked after and loved, but these fish are straight from the fish shop, loved with about as much emotional investment as a barramundi fillet.

Probably the same guy that goes around throwing fishermen's catches back in the water…

@Herb Utsmellz: To be fair though there has been some nasty animal cruelty with animals sent in post. He likely has a professional level awareness.

I think your link the a fishkeeping guide might also be broken.

    • Fixed thanks!

  • Endless Guppies

    • Yup

  • I absolutely loved keeping / breeding Endlers when I had a tank. They were so easy to take care of and bred at such a rate that I started to make (a little) money by selling them to the local fish shops.

I got my Endlers from QLD, I am in WA so it was posted but the seller knew to inject oxygen into the bag etc and the temperate was not bad so I was lucky and they all survived OK.

I started out with a breeding box to protect the fry but the tank was well planted and most survived as they sought refuge in the plants and ate the finer fish food I put out. The birth / survival rate certainly far outweighed the the deaths by eating.

And for $10 a pair that is a great price, makes me wish I had a tank again. OP how much is a pair normal price?

    • Usually they are about $7 each, but to be honest, we have this deal on more often than not.

    • "makes me wish I had a tank again"…

Then you remember the cleaning part. :-)

I've been wanting to get rid of my tank for years, but I've got about a dozen HUGE clown loaches that are 10 years old, and I can't do it until they've gone.

  • The girl is meh, breeding not guaranteed

  • Purchased 3 pairs from them about 3 weeks ago, was in horror when I saw the deliver person just throw the package to the ground. I am not saying it's Sydney Aquascapes's fault :)
The package was well packed, the guppies are still very good when I opened the breathing bags (two layers).
I got some bonus snails from the purchase too. not sure if there were inside the bag or on the plants which I purchased at the same time. After I put the entire bag into my tank, Initial count of the snails was 5, 3 weeks later I managed to find total of 13 of them!

These guys are easy to deal with and very fast to respond my email queries.

    • Thank you! Glad we impressed.
