What to Do after Completing The LEGO

I do want to try more sets but keep buying them is no just a problem of finance but also the space to keep them all… so wondering what people normally do? Ideally a community Lego library would be the best where people exchanges sets.

Update: A lot of ideas here so thanks guys. Display shelf or storing them is just not practical in my case, we already run out of space and not to mention ideally you want to try tens of sets which will take up loads of space and you have to dust them.. that will be nightmare.
I guess reselling is the best bet here. Was hoping to know some community where people can swap and lend their Lego

Sell them, store them in displays, break em up and pack them away.

  • Take photos to show you’ve built it.

    Make alternate MOCs.

Make a YT video on it.

    Play with them.

leave pieces on carpet in homes after parties where they have no kids

Unbuild in reverse, bag it up per instructions, sell it.
I don't have display room and I'm really just after the build experience. If the instructions are sealed I leave them sealed and use the PDF instructions.

Mostly I get 75-90% back if I get my timing right.
Sold the Titanic for $950 so got 95% back on that.

So basically, I'm just hiring it.

Or if you buy Lego from the better OzB deals, you'll get 100-110% back!

True, I got the UCS AT-AT for $985 and sold for $1k (yes after building). Timing is key because once it's on special everywhere I have to lower expectations.

Anyway, it's a solution that suits me.

IKEA Billy shelves and display them. Give them a dust every couple weeks. Or sell them on.

      IKEA Billy shelves

You need to be a LEGO Master Builder to put that together…

Strip it all down to pieces and there is a website that escapes my mind at the moment, but it gives you alternative builds for the pieces you have. You can put in the LEGO kit number and it usually spits out something else you can built from that same kit.

I sit there and stare at it and then wonder why I spent $200 on bits of plastic

    kraggle

  • Put them back in the box and never look at them again.

  • If you're not pulling them apart and putting the bits in a bucket with all the other bricks from other sets to play with using your imagination, it sounds like a sad time to be into Lego.

  • I have the Lego Titanic and an IKEA wall shelf. Now just need to find some time to put both together.
