if your s7 still works fine, save your money.

    • this, OP if you needed a new trimmer you would've bought one already, regardless of its price.

    • My s7 (I think it was a seven?) was the first, and so far only, electric shaver I bought. Whoever was on the production line that day was on the ball.

      • Mine has been going for almost 15 years. Amazing Shaver.

    • No , this is pro + cleaning station + charging cover

  • is this good for shaving your head?

    • Which head?

The one that does the thinking… wait that could be either…

Same question. Currently wet shaving, but was wanting to know if this could do a good enough job, especially if you're in a hurry.

Also, what does "targeted" code mean? Do not all of us get it?

      • my exact situation also

  • Believe me, your 15 year old series 7 was differently made. You will be disappointed with the new model.

    • My friend got this and his shave is usually much cleaner than me . I think the foil is much better than 8 and 7 . Once I used it , will post a feedback here .

I purchased the top model of the series 8 a few months back and was really disappointed with it. It's more of a hair puller than shaver even while it was brand new.

        • +1

Use your safe word if the hair pulling is too much to handle

      • I'm sure the foil is better and gives a better shave, just don't bank on it lasting forever like the old stuff. My previous gen Series 9 battery died just as warranty was running out, luckily I guess, so got that fixed under warranty. Pretty soon afterwards it went funky. Would randomly turn on and off and lock itself.

Might give Panasonic a try next.

Other $150 shaver probably does the same

    • It really depends on the thickness of your facial hair . Mine is pretty thick and I need a good shaver to have a clean shave everyday , I’ve tried a 100$ Remington shaver and it’s not really comparable with Braun .

I have switched to Philips prestige IQ model from the Braun series 8 and never look back

    • Care to share your experience? I have a series 9 and I find it get to some of the thinner flatter hairs while shaving.

  • I have this. Def worked better than my last series 7. However I can’t help but wonder if I would have been been better off with that other shaver OzB’ers rave on about. The Panasonic I think??

I have uneven growth. This def handles better but do have to run over a few times still.

  • The 15% off Afterpay code might also work on this when it is activated.

I just bought the ES-LV67 Panasonic 5-blade shaver, which is currently $249 at Amazon and the shaver shop, half RRP. Can’t compare to Braun because I’ve only used cheap Braun models 15 years ago. But it shaves very, very close. I’ve been using an LV81, which was the older generation of LV67. It has been amazing for the past 6 years, but I dulled the blades by putting it in the cleaner wet and forgetting to press the dry button, many times. Then I dropped the inner blades down the sink and was unable to retrieve them. New blade set costs $120, so I decided to purchase an entire new shaver instead. Seems to be more ergonomic than the LV81.

    • I just wanted to ask, how do you clean the shaver if you buy the version without the cleaning station?

      • Just run it under the tap while the motor is on, then take the foil off and leave them to dry. You can use a bit of hand soap first if you like. And you can lubricate it with the included lubricant after it's dry. I prefer to lubricate it only about once or twice a week, otherwise the blades are too oily. The cleaning station is totally unnecessary, but it may save you about 30 seconds each day.

        • Thanks a lot for the fast reply.

Ahh right, sounds pretty easy. Would a small amount of dishwashing soap be OK, or a liquid hand soap?

Should I look at buying an extra amount of lubricant, or does it come with a decent amount? For example, would this oil be suitable for when the Panasonic supplied one runs out https://www.shavershop.com.au/wahl/clipper-oil-10ml-900172.h…

The manual says use liquid hand soap.

It comes with a small container of lubricant. I don't know how long it will last, maybe 6 months or a year. I usually use the Shaver Shop's spray-on lubricant, but it smells horrible. I think lubricating isn't as important as ensuring the blades are always dried properly.

Just an update, been using the shaver for a few weeks now, and in my opinion it's amazing. I've never shaved as close as this, nor as quick. I can finish shaving in less than a minute.

            • @ForkSnorter: Hi mate, just wanted to say thanks for all your help. I wanted to send you a PM, but it seems you have them turned off? I wanted to send you some links/info to articles I found that I thought you might find interesting (for example you can use newer model foils on the ES-LV67 when you are due to buy a new one).

Anyway, I decided on the ES-LV67 (realized I don't need the cleaning station after what you said and also finding a great review site with someone that's used most of the Arc 5 models/versions & other brands), however, I worked both days of the weekend and when I went to order it Monday (yesterday evening), the price went up as the sale was over :(.

If you ever see it on sale again, could you please give me a heads up? Not sure what other places to keep an eye on for sale prices? Also, not sure if it's the stores themselves that do the sale prices or if Panasonic themselves run then at the cheaper buy price for the stores to get.
