Curved monitor? Best one for around $350-$400

I’m just a mum, looking for a birthday present for my kid.

I have NO IDEA about this stuff. He’s requested a curved monitor for his Xbox X gaming set up.

Please help me out with what’s the best value for money around the $350-400 price range.
I’m looking but realise it’s just not a monitor lol

Any help (and links to products) would be greatly appreciated!!

    xbox x

I thought xbox x does not support ultrawide?

    • But you can get curved regular monitors.

      • Had no idea- would think it kinda defeats the purpose of immersion?

Yes, purpose is indeed defeated imo, but gimmick sale nonetheless.

I'd be checking with him what size monitor he wants to start with.

Just ask your kid what he wants.
    He will appreciate it more.

First determine if it's an XBox One X or an Xbox Series X, they are different generations of systems with different graphical capabilities which will help determine the monitor it's paired with.

Presuming it's a Series X, you'll be wanting to get the best out of it by running your display at 4K resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. You'll need HDMI 2.1 to support this. Finding a monitor meeting those specs is what you should be looking for

Next determine the size display you are looking for, this can be limited by the space you have, or how far back the seating position is. If it's the standard desk/chair position then 27" - 32" will be probably be the best size range

Also, will the monitor also be used on a computer? Consider that there is such a thing as too big.

So for the best experience you'd be looking at gaming monitor with:

    • 32" screen size (curved)
    • 4K resolution
    • 120Hz refresh rate
    • 16:9 ratio

Getting all that for < $400 just isn't possible right now, so some compromises are going to have to be made to stick to the budget.

Talk to your son and workout where he's willing to compromise

      Good Info.

On a desk and for gaming 24inch is a good size. And at 24in you also don't need that good resolution. 24in curved is a gimmick. If they are sitting back from the monitor, then i'd look for a bigger size and high resolution.
