  • I have owned a vax previously and I know that it pumps out clean water and sucks up the dirty water into a different container.

What I would like to know is if I can use this unit to just suck up dirty water.

ie I have a flood prone area in my batcave when there is heavy rain. I need something to just suck up the water.

    • I too have an old Vax (so old it was Made in Australia!), and yes it is capable of having an empty shampoo vessel and just suck up moisture from the carpet.

Although I think a bucket is probably more effective in removing flood waters than a Vax.

      • Not when it's just 1-2mm.

    • Yes you definitely can by using the carpet washing function but not connecting the cleaning solution tube or putting water in the reservoir. You will be limited to how much water the unit can hold in it's dirty water tank & may have to keep emptying it depending on how much water you need to suck up.
