I wrongly made the assumption yesterday, that Woolworths gift vouchers would work at Big W (while at the checkout). [They simply were not recognized].
Providing that Woolworths sell Big W cards, will purchasing these from Woolies allow me to effectively covert these for use at Big W?
(or any other suggestions welcomed).
No, you cannot buy a Gift Card or eGift Card with a Woolworths Gift Card. Purchases can be made online and in-store using cash, credit or debit card.

You cannot use any gift cards issued by Coles Group to purchase other gift cards issued by Coles Group. If you try this, you’ll get an Invalid Product Mix error on the EFTPOS terminal.
This happened to me when I once got curious and tried to purchase a Coles Group & Myer gift card using a Coles gift card at Coles.
The wording on the electronic vouchers are "Woolworths Supermarket"
Do you shop at Woolworths? Easiest thing to do is get bigw/wish gift cards for your big w purchase and use your woolies card at woolies.

You cannot use Woolworths Supermarkets gift cards to purchase any gift cards at Woolworths, plus you cannot redeem Woolworths Supermarkets gift cards outside of Woolworths supermarkets, Woolworths Metro or Woolworths’ online supermarket.
It is against the Woolworths Supermarkets gift card terms and conditions to purchase any gift cards using Woolworths Supermarkets gift cards..
There is currently no known loophole in-store or online at Woolworths supermarkets or Woolworths Metro to get around this restriction. The last known loophole was Everyday Pay during its trial phase last year (which was closed before Everyday Pay finished its trial phase).
Ok, I will consider this thread as being answered, with the definite answer being "No".
The only solution being to just spend the Woolies vouchers at Woolies on food, and use the money saved on buying the food at Big W.
I still thing it does not make sense limiting a card so it can only be used at Woolworths, but perhaps there is a legitimate reason for this (so that if agencies are giving the cards to their clients, they cant buy goods other than food - though it is possible to purchase tobacco products using the vouchers, which could be considered to be worse than non food goods).

The issue here is you bought woolworths gift card which can only be used at woolworths. You need to buy Wish gift cards if you want to use it at woolworths and/or big w.
You made an assumption, got it wrong, and now you are blaming the store.
Yes, they were through some rewards program.
If you really don't want to spend it at Woolies, then you could sell the gift card in the Classifieds section. You'd have to sell it a discount, so this option would not be very attractive.

There is a way but with some hassles.
The refund eGC has always been Wish, not Woolworths store in my exp.
You might do that with any $EDR balance together.
