For someone looking for something special, this is Choice's highest rated toaster. Is it really worth spending this much over a $7.50 Kmart toaster? I'll leave that to you. It does have a motorised lift system, keep warm function, and a 'little longer' function.

The Choice review points out:

  • Excellent score for browning evenly.
  • Excellent at producing the same toast colour cycle after cycle.
  • Very good at toasting frozen bread.
  • Excellent controls with a motorised carriage mechanism.
  • The crumb tray is very easy to clean, rated excellent.
  • Only OK at toasting a single slice of bread.
  • Borderline at toasting multigrain bread.

Previous low appears to be $209. Looks to only be the Sugar Pearl colour on sale.

Available for Click and Collect or free delivery.

    • Only OK at toasting a single slice of bread.

Quite a bit cheaper to get your kid a real toaster to play with than the toy one. Unbelievable isn't it!

    • When I like to burn my toast I choose to do do it with nothing less than the best.

    • It amazes me that the woman on the toaster looks so grumpy

    • Let the wife talk me into getting a Smeg (not the D&G one) once. It's just the same sh*t quality as all the $10 Kmart ones. Of course it died (shortly after warranty expired). It's just such a waste.

I use my toaster 3 times per day, coffee machine and toaster is an area I don't skimp on. My breville has slots wide enough for a Four'n'twenty pie, so it's out of microwave into toaster and crispy pie from frozen pie in under 5 minutes. So slot size in toasters is important. I also do lots of muffins and crumpets so need the setting that changes element heat settings. I also east artisan bread so need long slots, so the slots designed for your your square supermarket loaves aren't long enough ……..

wish the Kmart toaster did all I need as $180 for the breville is painful ……….

  • I bought one… :|

  • link is now showing $169

  • now down to $155 with an extra 20% off so ends up being $124
