I Want to Return My Canon RF 24-105L on eBay from digiDirect

I ordered R5 and 25-105L from digidirect last month sale.
Never used. After dig deeper i think i want 24-70 f2.8 instead,

I went online chat with digidirect abt returning, they can't help me, i just want to know their term and condition.

I never return any item/product on ebay before.

How hard is to return to Digidirect? and has anyone here done one before?

Or i am better off resale it at cost price supply receipt (warranty).

Cheers

    their returns policy is here
    https://www.digidirect.com.au/returns/

    • According to the Australian Consumer Law, we are not required to provide a refund or replacement if you change your mind.

    Why don't you try…

    • thanks

      • Did u end up returning it?

A "change of mind" return after a month, I think you'll be out of luck there…

Have you opened it at all?

    • +2

I did open and have alook,

Yeah i might keep it lol after all

dont want to go through trouble

At least you have a good attitude about it :)

With you opening it they wouldn't be able to sell it as: Brand New: A brand-new, unused, unopened, undamaged item

  • The returns policy is on the eBay listing and could differ from their website direct.

It seems to say returns are accepted within 30 days. Go to your orders page and initiate a returns request from there.

This might be the listing, the last one sold was on 17th July:

Does digiDIRECT have a returns policy?
Under Consumer Protection Law, we do not accept returns for "change of mind" or if you order incorrectly. However, damages or faults will be treated on a case-by-case basis. At digiDIRECT, we are committed to providing our customers with the best service and support.
Shipping and handling charges are non-refundable.

May say that in their own description but not what the eBay listing says which is what I would argue counts.

Clearly says returns policy is 30 days after the buyer receives it and buyer is responsible for return postage costs. I would argue that supersedes it and OP might be able to return in resolution centre.

        • Good call, I missed that…

        • Ebay said, if u have ebay-plus, it will cover, regardless digidirect accept or reject, once item gets to seller, ebay will do the rest.

          Not sure about that.

I dont think i want to go through the trouble

          thanks

          • @blackwind: try that then.. if the shop angry, the issue is between them and ebay.
            because ebay allows it. (hopefully)

            • @CyberMurning: Ahhhh…. you are super duper smart, you made a point!!
i have all day to decide lol..

          • @blackwind: You don't need eBay Plus, that policy applies even without it (I don't have it).

Go to https://resolutioncentre.ebay.com.au - Find the order and initiate an automated return.

  • You're out of luck mate. They do not accept change of mind returns. They are under no obligation to do so.

Sell it and take the loss, if any. The same is a good price so if unopened you shouldn't lose any money.

P.s. I'm with you, I regret my 24-105 f4L. So frustrating not being able to step down, and 70-105 makes barely any difference.

    I wish I got the 28-70 f2 instead.

    • Impulse buying, i had my ef 24-105 on my 5d3. i loved dearly. it never left my camera.

So i thought well rf 24-105L is doing ok, should be ok, until i had a sparkle in my mind, why dont you try the 24-70 f2.8L for once.

I alway wanted one of ef 24-70L but the weight.

      Where rf 24-105 is 700g and 424-70L is 900g

  • They might return it for a restocking fee - usually 20% ?

  • "Or i am better off resale it at cost price supply receipt"

why people buy something from random person if they can go to the store at the exact same price?
(for a mere few $ less)
the more expensive an item , like this lens, the buyer markets are rich enough people with $ they will prefer to go buy from the shop and pay more than from random people.

different story with some for example $500 phone….

yeah receipt - 18yo can edit a pdf and re-print. (not saying you will, just FYI)

You made a good point, but that not me.
I know selling back to public is alway a hassle and troublesome,
Anyway, I will keep it and use it myself and wait till i buy 24-70 and then i will think of selling it

You should of dug deeper before committing to and purchasing the item, not afterwards, lesson learned i guess.

    • please stop!! it hurts even worse!! please stop

  • You could always do what dodgy eBay buyers do to me.

Perfectly working product…. they file a case with eBay as "item is defective". Ebay forces the return and refund. Done and dusted.

Eh, the 24-105 f/4 is a great lens - versatile, lightweight, useful. The difference between f/2.8 and f/4 is only one stop, not a big deal in the scheme of things. If you really need low-light performance, get a 50 f/1.2 and call it a day.

    • How does the bokeh compare on these 2 lenses? I'm a sony fanboi so have no idea about canon.

      • Neither have particularly good bokeh - if you want good bokeh, really need a fast prime.

      • Bokeh on f2.8 is delicious 🤤. But not on the pocket lol

I just want to try the 2.8 for once

        • Bokeh on f2.8 is delicious

It's really not - f/2.8 is just not that fast.

This is a buy now think later, consequence.
