I enjoy the weird taste of salted licorice, and purchase this from Aldi each year it becomes available.
This year I have found that it does not seem to be very salty at all.
Perhaps they have changed the recipe?

Well, I'm sure that Aldi has sold vans, stollen, hellish items, houseboats, salt and licences at various times as part of their Special Buys

Aldi sell a salted and a non salted version. Are you sure you bought the right one? Failing that maybe your salt tolerance has gone up. As others have said try the round ones with "DZ" stamped on it - stands for double z(s)alt . Should do the trick
yeah, I bought a non salted version this year.
Your profile says you're in NSW. May i suggest a visit to 84 Market St, Smithfield. They have true dutch licorice, including double salted.
Be warned to check the expiry date on all their products though.
