General consenus seems to be - looks really amazing, espec on PS5. Everything else is a bit worse than the original. The side quests are a bit bland.
Obvious approach is to start with the original and see how much you like it.
Side quest are bland, lol all of them are unique compared to the first game I enjoyed the second one but the story of the first one was amazing
I agree with this and would give the game a solid 7.5. Graphics and voice acting were top notch, but the studio didn't give the story the attention it deserved in their pursuit of setting up a sequel and the game suffered as a result.
its not worse than the original. just lack of WOW factors. players who completed the original know what is coming. the original was the only game I got all platinum in my PS life :D

@Griffindinho: Overrated imho. Graphics look great, story is abysmal, side quests are boring, combat is fun for awhile but becomes boring, especially if you played through the first game. Aloy isn't too likeable.
I much preferred Ghost of Tsushima. YMMV.
@DevGuy: You must have been playing a different game.. game looks fantastic, story being very short but still awesome and each side mission was actually unique and engaging. Go play Tsushima then..
Perhaps I should have said 'not quite as amazing' as the original. People get triggered when you use negative words like 'worse'.
There are tons of opinions out there obviously, I'm just summarising what I've seen most commonly said.

Even better when you are with CBA and you have the spend 50 get 10 back deal. Go to Jb Hi Fi and price match to get the game for $41.

$41 after CBA's $10 rebate is a bargain, even if it does go on further sales during black friday.
This game is great, I've put 90+ hrs into it already. Not as spectacular as the first one purely because it's not as unique the second time round but immensely satisfying to play.
First play through got 150hrs out of. it's a good result if I can play a single player title for 40-60. For me it was a bargain at full price. I'll just focus on the main story if I feel like a game is just busy work like a job, but this one never felt like that, even when farming for parts for upgrading gear.
It's obviously going to get cheaper the longer you wait and if it's just going to end up in your pile of shame then wait longer. Side note, both the first and second didn't hook me straight away - my day one purchases probably only got a few hours here or there before picking them up again a couple of months later and becoming engrossed.
Plenty of value to be had. Bargain status subjective.
How does the free PS5 upgrade work? Do you just install it as per usual?
Not 100% sure, but I think you get the choice of PS4 or PS5 version to install
Put the disc in, select the free upgrade option on the dashboard then it downloads the PS5 version
