    This mouse chews through batteries

    • +2

I have one, use it everyday for work/ games etc and only have to replace the battery every 3-4 weeks.

However, I find that the mouse just stops and I have to remove the battery and put it back in. Happens every few days.

If you download the Razer app you can modify the button commands. That has been great :)

      • +12

That's seems pretty bad considering a lot of mice state their battery life in terms of months or even years. I get that it's a gaming mouse so it goes through batteries faster but even so, 3 weeks doesn't seem very long.

      • +3

I get the same issue with it dying unless batteries are taken out and put back in. I thought it was just the issue on mine.

      • +1

Black eneloops are what I use. Charge them every month or two. Mine cuts out randomly too. Annoying.

      • -4

Jesus, i replace mine like every 2 years and I also use it everyday (not this mouse, just a regular mouse and keyboard set)

      • same issue here..

      • 3-4 weeks is freaking terrible

      • very helpful information, thank you.

    • +5

      Sounds like you need eneloops

    • +2

Use mine for work each weekday, just replaced the battery last week after 2 months of use.

    • Haven’t used a Razer mouse before but, see if the app lets you adjust polling rate.
Set up a profile (assuming it has profiles) for office work lowest polling.
One for gaming, select desired setting here.
That should give you some more battery life.

    • +2

I work in IT had one for about a year now, replaced batteries 2 or 3 times at most

    • With your experience were you using Bluetooth or the Dongle? The power draw is different between the two connection methods.

      • I've been using mine over the dongle for about a year and I've replaced the battery maybe 2-3 times (I do turn it off at the switch when not in use)

  • +3

had to return those a few times. it would lose connection then you'll have to remove battery and pop it back to have it working again. In the end it's just too much trouble and had it refunded.

    • +2

Had the same experience. Pity, cause it's a great mouse when it works.

    • +1

I've had the same experience too. I think it happens when the battery is low.

      • +4

I thought that at first, but even after swapping out for a new battery it would just cut out again. Could be days, hours, minutes, or seconds until it would happen again randomly.

  • +1

Yup I have the lose connection and need to remove and reinsert battery issue. Stay away from this mouse.

  • +5

Do yourself a favour and get a Logitech. I had this mouse and I had constant issues.

    • Chews through battery on non Bluetooth mode.
    • Bluetooth mode drops out all the time (although I was using a crappy USB BT adapter)
    • Bluetooth mode interfered with Bluetooth headphones (although I was using a crappy USB adapter)
    • Right click would not "drag click" when pressed. Ghost clicking is the word apparently.
    • Would lose connection and require a power reset or switch between BT/Non BT and a waiting period of up to 30 seconds to reconnect.

I replaced it with a G604 for $99 and the G604 is significantly better. Don't waste your time with this.

  • +3

    I bought this mouse twice.
The first one would chew through batteries and had annoying ghost clicking issues, like it would release the click randomly while I'm still holding the click.
The second one has lasted weeks and I still haven't changed the battery. And it doesn't have the click release issue. Works like a dream.
I checked the serials and exactly the same. Maybe an issue with different batches?
    Super comfy mouse though

    • +2

How can serial number be the same? do you mean model number? where did you purchase from? if serial numbers are the same maybe its a fake?

      • Ahh derp. Yes I meant model number
        Both purchased from Amazon

  • +3

Get a Razer Orochi v2 if you want a wireless mouse that has 2 side buttons. Comes with option to use dongle or bluetooth (battery lasts longer on this mode). Frequently goes on sale to around the $60-70 mark if you look around. Egg-shaped ergo mouse, not for extremely large hands.

    • +2

'Frequently goes on sale to around the $60-70 mark if you look around'
More like, literally always below $60 and goes on sale for $30-$40

  • Kind of regret this mouse. I got it for similar from a deal, but like others mention with having to frequently change battery and getting random disconnects (common).

  • -1

Doesn't this mouse normally cost a lot more but comes with a free laptop?

  • Trash mouse. For all reasons specified above

  • +3

Had this for about 3 months now. Works a treat. None of the issues specified above. With Bluetooth it's a lot laggier then with the dongle.
    Running on a white eneloop.

  • I had this mouse. Battery usage was certainly high compared to my old Logitech (every three - four weeks, working from home) but I persevered with it because I liked the shape and feel of it, very comfortable to use. After nine months it just stopped working completely - took it back to vendor for a refund. Shame, as it was nice to use.

  • +1

I've been using this mouse at work since I got it during the Black Friday sales last year. Using Bluetooth mode, an energiser max battery lasted me ~9 months. I do turn it off overnight though.

  • +2

Used mine on and off at work for under a year. Still haven't changed the battery. Used for maybe 3 hours per day total because I only get to the work station occasionally during the day.

Definitely depends on duration and type of use I reckon. Otherwise there's something wrong with your unit

  • I have this mouse. Have to replace the battery(duracell ultra) every 3-4 weeks using the usb mode.

  • +1

The only issue I have with this mouse is the scroll wheel and scroll click, just feels super cheap and hard to press. Had the disconnect issue on the first week of usage then after that it never happened again. However despite that, its a great, comfortable mouse that feels really smooth over a wireless connection, and at its price, largely outweighs its cons.

  • +1

Been using this for a year. With black eneloop pros, charge every 3 months with 5 hour daily gaming usage. Guess I didn't get a dud mouse.

  • +1

Friends don't let friends buy Razer

  • Have this mouse, don't recommend.

  • Isn't the orochi v2 the better choice for $50.15?

  • Awesome mouse ; haven’t had any issues with mine

  • Great mouse except for when IT DOESN'T WORK.

Don't buy. I don't have battery issues but the disconnections are widely reported and never fixed through firmware updates.

  • +1

    DO NOT BUY!

As stated above, the connectivity issues are real… and very frustrating.
I can live with the poor battery life, I don't mind changing batteries one every month. But the random disconnects requiring the battery to be removed is like changing your battery weekly, sometimes twice weekly.

There's a reason this mouse is being heavily discounted. Don't buy it.

  • Rubbish mouse due to all the reasons above, please avoid! Waiting for G502 to be on sale.

  • Love this mouse. No battery issue. 1 battery change in 6 months. Used everyday and never switch it off.
    Toggles between devices flawlessly.

  • I love this mouse too. I only need to change the battery 1-2 times a year.
The only issue I had was it lagging if my FEKER bluetooth keyboard was connected first before the mouse, but I think that issue is the keyboard's fault rather than the mouse.

  • Super happy with mine. Can't fault the connection or the battery life. Of course other wireless mice last longer, because they're mostly 125Hz polling and feel terribly slow in comparison.

  • +2

    happy with mine. no issues.

you guys may need to update the firmware

  • Had this mouse.

Would never buy it again, not even for $5. Similar issues to what people are reporting. Way too frustrating when playing competitive FPS.

Spent more dollars for the G502 wireless and have been very happy. Will spent proper money from now on.

  • Same as others - constant connectivity issues with this mouse. Can be fine for days, then drops out in the middle of a game.

  • I like this mouse. Purchased in October 2021 and only changed the battery once. That said I use it on Bluetooth mode and switch the mouse off when not in use.

  • No issues with this mouse. Albeit I do have the change the battery more frequently than my mx master. But then again the refresh rate of this mouse is much higher so I think it's to be expected.
