Would much rather buy an ex-office Thinkpad or Latitude 8th gen.
If you want to buy new, get a cheap IdeaPad or Inspiron or something. You can get something with a real CPU and a warranty for around $700.
RAM and SSD can be added/upgraded cheaply after purchase on most machines. The CPU can't.
