Costco has a cat version for $59 which does a bit more than just length measurement. Stud finder feature is a bit crap, but the leveler feature is pretty good to measure angles of surfaces. Plus you get a tiny tripod..

    • From other comments on ozb it seems the accuracy of the CAT one isn’t great.

      • I've tried it for room length measurements and it seems to be accurate enough (as compared to measurement tape). If you require mm level accuracy then it may be slightly off.

          So it’s not accurate then.

@cnut: Accurate enough for quoting jobs, not for doing them.

    • This has angle measurement as well…

  • Pretty mixed reviews on Amazon. Either people love it or say it sucks

  • For something like this it best be positive reviews or negative reviews on the UX. If there are comments about it being off in its measurements… don’t buy.

I looked at these some time back and instead forked out for a Bosch PLR 40C unit.

    https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/product/B076C3TB8P/ref=ppx_yo_d… measures…

Much more expensive ($109), but always reliable and very well built. I am currently refitting and renovating my house. Also comes with a Blue-tooth connection and measurements get transmitted straight into my Android tablet via a Bosch app. Very useful when planning. My previous Stanley unit just crapped itself and fell apart after a few outings. Very poor build and suspect materials which broke down very quickly. Stanley tools are not what they used to be. I s also had a poor experience their stud finder which I also returned to Bunnings for refund.

Anyhow, check carefully and try to use them first hand when looking to purchasethese laser measurers… you get what you pay for :)

Note: For the benefit of trolls and flamers, my message here is "measured" and accurate to the last micron… make sure yours is too :)

    • I measured 4 mistakes in your statement. I think the tool you used isn't as good as you think.
