Advice on Laptop Options (Budget $1000)

I'm in the market for a laptop. $1000 +/- a few hundred. Can anyone recommend a model with good colour reproduction?

Bit of Photoshop and maybe light gaming (side scrollers, occasional AAA but ok playing low/medium settings) but mainly photoshop and general browsing etc.

Considering this

I like the screen and backlit keyboard, I've heard bad things about Asus laptops, bad service. I used to love their

Or this

Better processor, maybe not as good build quality?

Or just to be ridiculous

But screen isn't great.

  • For photoshop, even though 8GB RAM should be ok, I wouldn’t get anything less than 16GB.

  • Things like Ori blind forest, simple games for sick days in bed, maybe "AAA" 3rd, 1st person. But not essential. I have a series x for more intense gaming.

Mainly for the screen and photoshop. Def will put another 8gb if I go with a machine with only 8.

  • Do you need a slim laptop.

Business ones are much easier to repair.

    Removable ram etc.

    • I just found this, seems to have good screen:

      This would decent for photoshop?

  • Not really needing slim, probably better airflow in larger chassis.

I just imagine them to be more expensive?

  • If you want to also add gaming to the mix then it has to have dedicated graphic card of something at least GTX1660 or RTX3050 onwards.

    • Huge discount!

  • Macbooks

  • Decided to wait on 6000 series Ryzen chips…. the iGPU will suit what I need. There is some high end laptops already, just need to wait a few more months 3-6 till they filter down.
