Looking for Quilt - Duck or Goose Down

Feeling a bit generous to myself, perhaps should replace my old cotton quilt with something more luxurious and light-weight.

Did you recently purchase a Duck or Goose Down or Feather quilt?
Hope you can share.

Thanks heaps!

Nah feathers push through and end up in your doona cover.
I use a 250GSM wool doona with a 1200TC Sheridan cover in QLD the whole thing retail would be worth over 1K
Only paid around $300 for the cover can't remember the wool doona price but that keeps me to hot on warmer winter nights.

Get a weighted blanket. I wake up with my body feeling sore after I got my weighted blanket, so that must mean I'm getting stronger in my sleep. 20kg of glass beads in a weighted blanket weighs a lot more than 20kg of duck feathers.

why is there a need for a duck down quilt in brissy? yeah the weather has been chilly down to 5 c in Maryborough qld but I have a older aldi thin quilt in a doona cover which is equal to 1.5blankets keeps me warm, if needed I have a std big w quilt thats equal to 2 blankets don't need heavy blankets or specialist sub zero stuff LOL

I 2nd the wool doona, you can't beat natural wool
    I use a 250GSM wool doona & I live in Tassie

  • Thanks all, looks like I need to recheck my requirement…. Duck or Sheep LOL
    Happy weeekend!

  • Personally I like a down doona because it is light to sleep under. I live in Melbourne so it can get cold in Winter. The other advantage of the down is if you get the channel ones you can push the down to the bottom of the channel if you don’t want it as warm.

I’ve never had issues with feathers coming out of my Doona into my cover. But I do buy good quality ones.

If you are looking at wool there are, also, alpaca versions.
