260

I spotted the Uniden XDECT R035BT+1 on The Good Guys catalogue this week for $69. The deal is on page 10 of the latest 'Stocktake Fever sale' catalogue. After a bit of digging around, I found that this was the lowest price and Officeworks has matched them. So you have a choice of two retailers for the offer.

This is indeed an incredible price. My Uniden DECT 2025 cost me $59 from Dicksmith last year.

I just bought the Uniden Elite 9135 + 1 at Myer for $99

    Original price $159

    http://shop.myer.com.au/shop/en/myeronline/au-electrical-r-1…

    • I bought the same phone for more - at $99 that is an incredible deal

For me these phones are fantastic as only part of my property has good Optus reception so I place the base near the bedroom and leave the phone there and can use it well around the rest of the house

Still not an ideal solution although it serves my purposes brilliantly

  • ive got this cordless phone, is pretty good. I paid double and am happy with it

  • +1

At this price you could buy two as it is cheaper than buying an extra handset separately if you need one (XDECT R003BT Additional Handset is $113 on staticice)! Great spotting OP! Also to sijai who posted about the Elite 9135 at $99 - not a bad price if you want a sleeker look and want to pair 4 mobile phones (this one only does two mobiles).

  • Bought online and got free delivery for purchase over $50!

  • Thanks Seijai, got the one from Myer insead of this one. But this is still a good buy.

I saw this and thought…well, I normally don't trust Uniden, but this is SUCH a good deal.

Got it home, plugged it in, 3 hours later, one of the handsets has a garbled display that you can't read.

THIS IS WHY I ONLY BUY PANASONIC. Aaargh!!!

A four year warranty is useless if it fails after three hours :-(

Negged to warn people about the product!

    • +2

Unless you believe Panasonic's never had a failure out of the box, I don't think the neg is fair.
Also, the warranty's far from useless as 3 hours is well covered within it (Though of course you can also just take it back to the retailer too).

As for Panasonic, I remember how many people had problems with them causing ADSL dropouts when ADSL was taking off. And usually would up buying other phones (such as Uniden) to replace them.

Well, I wasn't saying Panasonic has never had a failure OOTB, however I've bought or used daily 5+ of both brands over the years. The Panasonics I bought in 2005 & 2008 are still going, however none of the Unidens are.

I think comparing Panasonics from "the early days of ADSL" to Unidens in 2012 is a bit of a stretch.

        • Unidens I bought In 2007 are still going great. I have always used Uniden.

      • I have Panasonic and Uniden phones and also Wireless drop outs. But not sure, which one is causing it. Both are 5GHz phones.

  • Good deal but I would recommend reading reviews before buying.

  • I bought this deal from HN but it's on backorder

    http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/71302

Could anyone advise me if I should cancel it and get this deal instead? Which is the better phone?

  • Is this phone wall mountable?

    • The repeater is, not the main handset.

  • bought online at OW on Sun,
    just got a 'refund'

'Unfortunately this is now a discontinued line.
    Product: UNXDECT035 - UNIDEN XDECT035 BT CL PH/AM +1 $69.00
I have processed a refund to PayPal for you from ….."

I hate it when suppliers do not update their available stock levels online.

    • Amazing…
I wrote to OW about how disappointing this was.
Got a call from them, they found one at a store and are arranging to get it to my nearest OW for pickup. Price still $69.
Very impressed with their service now.

    • Yeah, they cancelled our orders too, not that impressed.

But never mind, I found that one of The Good Guys outlets still have them so placed my order there instead. Had to try a few different locations on their website — it seems that each store location has a different list of products and stock levels. The first two or three locations I selected didn't sell this model at all.

Bonus tip: It appears paying Officeworks with credit card was a bad idea — they want me to complete paperwork to get a refund. I suppose you made their life easier by paying with PayPal.

  • Tried OW today without success. Phoned DSE and they say they price match only above cost which they said was 132 or thereabouts.

Just ordered online from Good Guys Carseldine(QLD), there were none at Lutwyche.

  • Bayswater (VIC) Good Guys had about 8* left in the basket just off the section where the cordless phones are.
$67.50 cash (I think eftpos was considered cash)
    *as of Tuesday 12th June

  • bought one from GG on Sunday, wouldn't go any lower than $69 even I want to pay with cash. Paired with my mobile ok. Have to read the manual couple times to find out how to make mobile call from the handset.

  • I ordered this on OW Auburn yesterday. Aparently they don't have any stock in NSW. The sales man managed to backorder one for me from Canberra. 10 days for delivery. Great service.

  • I bought this from OW on Friday night, at the time I was told they only had stock left at the Wetherill Park and Penrith stores only. Awesome phone :)
