  • Not a bad price. It is worth noting you will need to replace the filter for these every 3 months and the filter costs $25.

    • is that like you "have"to, or is it like a Brita filter and you can leave it for months and months?

You would be better off not having a filter rather then an old filter.

An old filter will be ineffective at filtering and instead would be adding bacteria, that grows in the filter, to your water.

        • Why would bacteria grow inside the filter? How is suddenly charcoal and crystal/sand filter becoming a fertile ground for the bacteria?

          • @dr: Exactly

@Aureus: If you were using this to dispense cold water then I'd say that there was possibly an issue but if you're dispensing hot water, the heat will kill any bacteria that would cause issues.

@stenchlord: That's a good point. Assuming you are only dispensing 100c water and nothing else it should be fine for bacteria.

But still if you don't replace the filter, then it isn't going to be filtering well. So at that point either stop using the filter, or replace it.

You could also run it without a filter

I don't understand this bargain post - it was cheaper yesterday and out of stock today? What is the average price?

Would this be suitable for baby formula bottles?

  • Is this just using a thermoblock to heat water, like from their coffee machines? Would it get hot enough? Is that good hot water too? I thought there were some issues with it?
