Logitech G Aurora Collection TKL Keyboard Palm Rest $37.95 + $8.37 Postage @ Logitech G Australia

100
SHROUD

Palm rest dimensions = 40cm x 11cm or "TKL size" (and shipping is free for over $80 spend, but I didn't want anything else so just coughed up postage)
Also keep in mind guys it's white so if you are not the obsessive/clean type you might start seeing marks on it quickly.

Ok guys, honestly I am expecting some users to criticize this deal.
But I found this is way cheaper here than JB HiFi so thought I should let others know.
I could not resist this deal and just had to have this wrist rest (yeah I am the average dumb consumer).

This item was just released and at JB HiFi it is $69 + $7 postage, which equals $76 total.
https://www.jbhifi.com.au/products/logitech-aurora-tkl-keybo…
While at LogitechG Australia it is $38 + $9 postage, which is $47 total when using the code SHROUD for $2 off.
This item is not available anywhere else other than JB and Logi G AU I have checked.

So roughly a 40% discount on an item that has just been announced/released.
If you walk past JB HiFi twice a day then it's more like a 30% discount.

Transaction shows up as "Digital River Ireland" but don't worry it's just the online shop third party that Logitech and Microsoft use among others.
I already tried signing up for an account for "15% off first time users" that others claim, but I never got any code in the email. After reading more about it it seems like the 15% code is only for Logitech US customers and someone even shared the code exclusions include "new releases" so I think the 15% off code wouldn't work anyway.

  • Can't justify spending more on the palm rest than the cost of my mechanical RGB gaming keyboard

    • +4

This is the one of the comments I was expecting lol. Along with "A $20 one off Amazon will do the same job".
I get it it's not cheap and it's a niche product.
Some people spend $1000's of dollars on keyboard's though, although I think none of those users would be on ozbargain ^0^.

      • +3

I spend around 15k aud (and still increasing) for custom keyboard stuffs (keyboards, keycaps, switches and artisans) but still here to find the best computing parts deal lol.

        • +1

Alright fair enough. You must be cringing right now at the thought of Logitech lol.

  • Comment withdrawn. Someone has corrected the title.

Seems like moderators are doing a good job and making sure the code+checkout works.
I noticed now they even updated the shipping price, kinda miffed I paid $9 but what can you do.

  • Are they dreaming? It literally looks like cloud 9

    • +2

My keyboard setup is all white and I have been holding back on getting a wrist rest for a long time. I just couldn't resist. ^0^

Now comes the challenge. Keeping it clean.

  • Is Logitech G is actually Logitech?

  • at first I thought: what IS with this picture

then I opened the link and thought: what is with this palmrest

    • +1

"then I opened the link and thought: what is with this palmrest"

      Marketing at it's finest.
And also for a user who is associated with Logitech I thought you would know best?

      • +1

accidentally ticked that box. too close to Post Comment button

        • lol yeah I know just poking fun you ticked it.

          • @harshbdmmaster718: I am a big fan of Logitech gaming products though. I have 304, 604, 733 headset

  • Not sure why I would want a white palm rest, i'm sure it will look filthy in a few weeks.

    • Yeah I have mentioned that in the post towards the top.
To be honest I wash my hands quite a lot, but I still have these minor marks where my wrists go on the deskmat. It's only visible if the light hits it at an angle, I can't see it from sitting at the desk normally but if I stand up and look from beside the monitor there are faint light marks that looks like dust but you can't wipe them away.

I think it must be the liquid soap that remains on my wrists after washing my hands. So I make sure to rinse my wrists well since then.

That looks like 2 rows of anal beats stuck together!

  • Just one positive vote after 40 minutes. Went about as well as I expected 🤣.

  • I just have a mildly spongey mouse mat and an angled keyboard, I have never understood the purpose of these, especially the metal/wood ones

    • They add +10 to speed agility and stamina in all areas.

But you have to be a main character, to a NPC character it has no effect.

    • They're used to raise your palm/wrist so that your hand and forearm are at a more neutral angle, putting less strain on your wrist.

      • +1

I read somewhere that putting your "wrists" on the rest is actually not good and actually does the opposite where it can add strain. Something about constricting veins and tendons.
I think this is why Logitech decided to go with the "Palm rest" naming, putting the resting pressure on the palm is better than putting it on your wrist apparently.

        • I always thought it was weird they were generally called wrist rests as I found them uncomfortable that way, doesn't even take much, you just try it and it feels off, so as you suggest, I've always just rested my palm on mine.

I find it does help, with a tall-ish mechanical keyboard at least.

  • Well at least this deal made me aware of the new line of stuff Logitech G launched thanks for that.

I am hoping for a G pro wireless launch with their new receiver, usb c and same or less weight as the superlight and even better glide pads hopefully. Not that I NEED any of these but I would buy that mouse.

Ah also a 65% or 75% or even TKL 915 keyboard with macro buttons on the left.

Give me excuses to spend money Logitech haha

    • +1

No problem. I first read an article about their new "Aurora" series keyboards G715 and G713.
Then spotted the palm rest out of the corner of my eye.

There is not much released to be honest, it looks like the range is more than it is because of the "interchangeable face plates" for the new keyboards.

  • $39.95 seems to be RRP so JB is grossly inflated at launch. I'll wait for the price to sort itself out and hopefully Logi will release a black version.

    • +1

If so, JB HiFi would be $40 + $7 postage so $47 total which is equivalent to what I paid ($38 + $9 postage = $47 total).

So I guess they fooled me if I could have walked in the store tomorrow and saved on postage (price match), except apparently JB don't get stock until sometime in September.
LogitechG Australia is showing it as "in stock".
I purchased last night and got a shipping notification already for something coming from NSW. I can't tell what it is from the description though since I ordered from other stores as well.
If it is the palm rest hopefully I get it in a few days.

  • +2

first thought was it looked like they made a palm rest out of adidas boost foam lol

  • Gosh they are now showing as "Sold Out Temporarily".

Seems like a bunch of you silently got one lol.

    • now that the fomo has set in, i absolutely must get one.

      • +1

JB HiFi was out of stock and "Delivery" showing as "stock arriving september". Now the page is showing as "Back order" in the description and "Delivery" showing as "by 27 September".

Definitely wasn't showing as "Back order" last time I checked. Maybe they all sold out at supplier (LogitechG) so JB stock was delayed further lol.
Even if $39 is "standard price" hopefully I saved a few people from paying $69 at JB.
