  • What country are they imported from? You seem to have skipped that part here and on the website.

    • +2

We buy all our products in Australia from the suppliers who supply IGA and other smaller stores who dont get a fair go with big brands, we dont get a explanation of which country they come from and to be honest we dont need that information

  • +1

hmm… this is what local stock looks like (http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/70203)

this deal uses stock that doesnt look the same… "imported" can sometimes mean inferior quality folks.

more info from OP needed before I vote- but certainly no + just yet.

UFO im not here to justify why we offer customers a chance to save a buck so there is no further explanation for you sorry as I dont feel we have to explain ourselves and what we sell

Really? You're here to promote your website and would like for people to buy from you but don't believe that you have an obligation, implied or otherwise, to answer legitimate questions satisfactorily?

        Wow. Just, wow.

        • They wont be getting my dollars. Sorry Rep, you couldn't be more wrong.

  • ITT: UFO defines "imported" as being different.

    Jolly good.

Just buy a double edge razor and some feather blades, now thats a bargain.

    • Sure is a bargain, DE is only a few cents a blade and lasts about the same as a Mach 3 blade. Even cheaper using Derby or Shark blades. You can always ensure DE are genuine blades, this Mach 3 deal is uncertain, and the new large pack of 12 is sure to appeal to the people selling and packaging fake blades.

    • Can anyone recommend a decent DE razor for someone just starting with them. TIA

For basic entry level, there is Lord http://connaughtshaving.com/lordrazors.html

For a quality razor, Edwin Jagger is very good, and similar to the Muhle R89 standard http://connaughtshaving.com/mur89.html

For blades, a sample pack is good http://connaughtshaving.com/popular.html (only $14 for 60 blades, sure beats Mach 3 on price)

        • Really? I've tried a DE before, and found it pretty average. I figure if Gilette put millions of dollars into R&D for the Mach 3, there's a reason. I much prefer Mach 3 to the DE; I always found the DE not to give a close shave. YMMV, though.

        • Its a common view regarding DE and there are a lot of people using DE for the shaving experience. Leisure mans guide is very insightful into the shaving industry and gives some clues to the current market.

The $750 million dollar investment by gillette for Mach 3 is a huge investment, but as you say what works for one person may not work for someone else.

Regarding DE, there are many different blades that give different results, and i have even found a different leather (otoko) gives the best results for me. Some people report different results with different DE razors, but i dont have experience with this. There are many different DE options giving many possibilities.

I got it ordered though, if it is fake, I dispute the transaction then, easy ;)

I can understand that people on here are negative with every product thats a imported product but really why would a site that sells direct to public and all over Australia and on deal sites offer fake products ?

Do you think sales are that tight that we need to sell fakes and advertise them and risk huge fines and having our company shut down

The same product is also running on Livingsocial at the moment so do you think they would run a fake ?
Take a look at their shop deal.

Do we even need to state they are imported products ? No but we do to be honest.

    • How can a company sell on group buy sites, with the cut a group buy site gets and the amount of fakes that do get through.

Living Social and Cudo do seem the more reputable group buy sites, but the issue is that there are many fakes sold, especially products such as razors.

The large retailers are also making it difficult to purchase Gillette blades in Australia from anyone other than Coles and Woolworths, and this is another reason fakes are becomming more readily available.

Many companies are able to operate at a risk of being shut down.

why would a site… offer fake products?

To be more competitive price-wise, obviously.

risk huge fines and having our company shut down

They may be grey market/parallel imports that you are technically permitted to sell, but that are still of inferior quality.
