I was having a look at some of the past deals and there were deals for the a7 iii at roughly $1750 after cashback, with some even including accessories. Unfortunately, I wasn't shopping around for a camera at that time. Now that I am though, I was hoping that I could snag a deal under 2k for the a7 iii or another similar camera at that price point for photography. If anyone has any suggestions or knows of any deals and could point them out to me, I would really appreciate it because I can't seem to find anything.

I could, but I also don't want to delay the purchase that long because I'll probably have some need for it by then.

Basically every second hand one I can find is being priced at brand new. Seems to be like that with most tech I look for and when you try negotiate, they tell you to go away. Or maybe I've just had really bad luck
I've bought an A7iii very recently through JB hifi.
- Price matched in-store with VideoPro to bring it down to $2369 (currenlt $2380 in VideoPro, but same process).
- Used my JB Perks $25 voucher to bring it down to $2347.
- Paid with 10% off gift cards from this deal and various other deals from previous posts (had just over 3k worth of gift cards), essentially paying $2112 for the camera.
- There is also a $200 JB gift card upon purchasing the A7 iii and a 15% off Sony lens if you purchase them in the same order. You could sell the JB gift card at 10% off for $180 to bring the total price below 2k.
So in theory you can get a lens like this for less than $700 after price match, 15% off from JB and 10% off from gift cards. Bringing the total price for camera + lens + $200 JB gift card to around $2800, the cheapest price for this combo without gift card found on ozbargain is roughly $2400.
You can get the A7IV for $2700.
There hasn't been a deal for the A7III for $2000 since Jan this year. Even if you somehow managed to get the A7III for $2000 and even if you didn't care about any of the upgraded features, you're better getting off getting the A7IV for $700 more since the resale value of the A7IV will always be greater than the A7III - you'll likely get even more than the $700 difference too

Get Sony to pricematch and wait for a minimum 10% cashback from CashRewards. There's been a few 10% cashback rates alone in the last month
I thought it was a straight buy. I have seen those, but there are a lot of if. if Sony price match (they have refused twice my attempts), if cashback get tracked and paid. But good if all works
@snvl: Sony pricematched within the hour for me, and Cashrewards tracking worked.
Shouldn't be a reason why Sony won't pricematch or why tracking wouldn't work when it's not a coupon deal.

Perhaps you could wait till Black Friday/Cyber Monday/ pre-Christmas/Boxing Day sales and try your luck then.
