Black & Decker Vacuum Using Ozito Pxc Batteries

I have purchased a Black & Decker 3-in-1 Cordless Pet Powerseries Extreme 18V - BHFEV182CP-XE vacuum. I would like to use a bigger battery. I have lots of ozito pxc batteries and i wanted to know if anybody could tell me if i can buy a battery adapter/converter so i can use the ozito batteries in the black & decker vacuum or should i spend $100 on a black & decker 5.0AH battery. Thanks

You can either find an adapter on eBay or 3D print your own: e.g. https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/313252642030

$35 for a prewired 3D printed adapter is pricey but straightforward to use.

I wouldn't have a clue how to set that up 🤣

        I wouldn't have a clue
I wouldn't have any idea how to do that
Im not sure i could do that

If you can't be bothered learning how to connect two wires together, or are just refusing to take any advice from everyone here helping below, then don't bother asking for help. You have been given every feasible solution to your problem. We can't help you if you won't help yourself.

Buy the $100 battery and stop wasting our time.

  • A limited Google search found this - https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005002934979645.html

That appears to do Ozito (Einhell) battery to black and decker tools. It's also not cheap at $56, but other sellers might have similar cheaper. It would require trawling through AliExpress to find though as nothing stands out for me.

Keep in mind as well it may not fit. Black and Decker appear to say the vacuum is compatible with the rest of the 18V range, so it should be fine. But worth checking with the Aliexpress seller to be sure.

DIY is doable if you are into such things but is unlikely to be worth the time vs just buying the Black and Decker battery unless you want the challenge.

Or you could contact a company such as https://www.yourtoolbox.com.au/ and ask if they will do an adapter for you. Unlikely to be cheap though.

    • I like the idea of that and that is the kind of thing i would like but unfortunately the aliexpress link wont send it to Australia and your toolbox dont make black and decker adapters

      • Ahhh apologies, I wasn't logged in and missed the lack of shipping. I don't spot that particular adapter elsewhere on Aliexpress either, but something might turn up if you searched deep enough.

That same seller (Jadapters) has an eBay store that appears to ship to Australia, but it is much more expensive. https://www.ebay.com/itm/275209922148

With Yourtoolbox, they print and make the adapters themselves, so I meant you could ask them if they would do a Black and Decker one for you.
The Black and Decker battery / appliance side designs seem to be available for 3D printing, so reworking one of their adapters probably isn't a huge job for them.

Black and decker uses the same slot as some some other brands, but different notches. So that may make it easier too.

You could suggest that people wanting to run their Black and Decker Vacuum cleaner off their current drill batteries might be a useful market.

        Worth a try anyway.

        • I messaged tool box and asked them and they told me they dont do black and decker unfortunately

  • I have an old 16.8V B&D dustbuster that ran on Ni-Cads. Battery life was a woeful 10-15 mins. Thought about upgrading to a new lithium one but cost was about $100. Instead I bought a $5 battery holder off Ebay, and wired it up to the dustbuster and bought a Ozito 18V battery from Bunnings. Works great now. Hardest part about the DIY was making and fitting terminals to the battery holder to fit the battery. I was trying to buy the Ozito USB charger and use that but Bunnings was out-of-stock for several months. I would still recommend using the USB charger as less work involved.

    • I wouldn't have any idea how to do that

Necessity is the mother of invention. You have a battery that doesn't fit the vacuum. Make it fit or buy a battery that does ($100). I have a need to save money - that forces / motivates/ encourages me to learn and try the cheaper alternative (unless I don't have time). You could just buy an extra battery and just swap them over and keep them both charged when not used.

  • Spend $150 on a 3d printer instead.

Then you can design your own adaptor and print it.

I had zero experience with this, yet managed to design and print a bunch of adaptors to use my ozito batteries.

    • Im not sure i could do that

  • buy the black & decker battery

  • Couple of choices. You can have cheap or convenient

Search for adaptor online. (Unlikely, they seem to make major brand combos)
Make your own (seems diy is out)
Buy the black and decker battery
    Buy an ozito vacuum.

  • Thank you to everyone that commented. I have taken prong advice and brought the adapter on ebay. To Switchblade88 im sorry if i wasted you time. I apologise

    • Definitely post back here and let us know how you go once the adapter arrives.

      • I will. Thanks

      • I have received the adapter and it works well. At first i couldn't get it to go on but then realised there is an order to do it. Put it on the tool first then put the battery on. Im satisfied with it. Thanks for the suggestion

        • Good to hear it worked out!
