Nevermind that, how are you OP? Any updates you can share without getting yourself or us in trouble?

Peacefully resolved 😅 Thanks for asking - glad to have that behind me :)

      • Good to hear it.

Oh and to answer your actual question, I haven't seen it.

For 50mil an episode, its not that great. I would expect more at that budget

I enjoyed the House of Dragon more

I hope someone makes a comedy series about all the cosplay stuff that is so common. Seems like woke soy boys have taken over so fantasy make believe world's are popular now. Stuff that has no relevance to real life

I saw episode one. I liked it. Had no hype for me. I just take em as they come.

I am not going to watch it, I am tired of talentless hacks shoehorning their politics into established franchises like Star Wars & LOTR. I don't trust anyone other than Peter Jackson to do Tolkien justice. They're not interested in being as faithful to the source material as possible, they just want to make sure they can get brownie points for being PC.

    • I'm interested, what politics are shoehorned into it or Star Wars?

I've only seen episode 1, and have erased the sequel trilogy from memory.

      Spoken like Sauron himself

  • the what?

only thing i care about from prime is FREE DELIVERIES and warehouse deals

It was good. Wasn't half as woke as I expected.

    • I was truly expecting wild gay orc sex after reading the comments and have to say I'm highly disappointed all I saw was some dark skin.

  • I found it pretty good. Solid production and not as woke as ppl made it out to be. I liked it better than House of the Dragon so far

Watched episode 1 and liked it.

Speaking of wokeness - I guess people are upset that they deviated from the historic records of middle earth being solely populated by white people and macho men???!!! /s

    • I know right. Even if Tolkien wrote them all as white, every last race, I kinda think he wouldn't mind a couple of black characters in it if he were alive today. Britain had a couple of black people in it too at the time and for hundreds of years before his time. The inspiration for the books, which was mostly WWI, is universal. There were a couple of black people in WWI too. The US had 700k black soldiers in WWI. And considering how few black characters are in RoP it is probably proportional to the tiny percentage of black British soldiers too. As for all the female characters, Tolkien probably didn't have anything against females and maybe he would be pleased to see female characters explored more. He had a female kill that mini boss in the third book in any case. I mean probably, of course I have never actually read the books.

  • It's hilariously bad. Only the woke and folk born of simple intellect find enjoyment in it.

    Roundup,

    https://www.rottentomatoes.com/tv/the_lord_of_the_rings_the_…

    38% user score so far.

"So far from Tolkien as you can get."
    "Boredom definitions have been updated!"
"It's not Tolkien - not even close… This makes the hobbit movies look good…."
"No part of this is Lord of the Rings. Just another generic fantasy. On top of that when I hear the budget and see the effects, I don't know where the money went. The acting is overall poor. on par with B horror flicks. Not a single actor stands out. Tolkien is spinning in his grave."
"no storyline whatsoever. some useless scenes like kids eating berries are screening for so long. I ended up skipping the second half. I could not watch it."
"Leave it to Amazon to bomb another popular franchise. The casting is poor, the acting stale, and consistently there are randomly thrown jokes with poor comedic timing. Overall just a waste of time."

Any positive reviews are obviously paid by Amazon. :)

Really disappointing if you have read the books :/ Especially how far off the character "Galadriel" is :(

If you haven't read the books, it should be ok if you look past the poor scripting and crappy CGI :/

    • Those are user reviews. If you click the critic reviews section you'll notice that 100% of all critics so far gave a positive review, certified fresh with the red tomato instead of the rotten green splash, and 100% of top critics gave it a positive review.

Yes I noted that previously. If 100% of professional (i.e. 'paid' critics) vote one way or the other, (on anything) then these days I usually take opposite position. The audience score is 'usually' more accurate by a mile.

As a huge fan of the movies and books, reading these comments left me expecting some far left bs but jeez are y'all sensitive.

Just finished the two episodes. Unless you spend your entire existence thinking about people's skin, there's no "wokeness" and "pc-ness", it's just fine. The only legitimate criticism I see is of the surprisingly bad CGI and some strange acting/scripting.

It's still enjoyable. I definitely recommend it if you're a fan of the LoTR universe.

    Tolkien the piss.

  • very much enjoyed it :)

  • Everyone talks long and strange in it, pass. Nothing beats GoT.

    • First 5 seasons of GoT maybe. Any good show can beat the seasons after
