Any Upcoming Tyre Sales or Deals?

Does anyone within the tyre industry know of any upcoming car tyre sales, deals or promotions? I require a new set but happy to wait a few months.

Thanks in advance

There's always a deal active somewhere.

    What tyres are you after?

      245/45 R19

"Require" and "wait" should never been in the same sentence when talking about tyres.

I'll hop down off my high horse now after remembering my own tyre management history. Canvas still means good, right?

    • Delamination and wire strips flying everywhere is still ok according to the many cars I see on the road like this.

    • if it holds pressure it's still OK right? right??

Ridiculous, of course there's a period of at least a few months in which you're in the zone of "requiring" new tyres. Unless you're deliberately being a Grammar Nazi and going with the hard defintiion of "require"
It's not like you tick over xxx Km by popping down to the shops and "Uh Oh! my tyres are now unsafe, must replace them this second"
If anything OP is indicating awareness, unlike most drivers who drive around on visibly underinflated tyres, or borderline bald tyres.

I'm in the same boat, only a few mm to wear markers, time to start shopping around.

Quick research shows, not to bother with Beaurepairs as their prices start at least $20 higher than anyone else.

OP isn’t ready and waiting for a trigger event that to push for tyre change.

  • Tyers are on sale now

Bridgestone recently rolled out the buy 3 get the 4th free deal.

    • Been an ongoing deal for years. Other suppliers copy same.

      • +6

Yes. This deal keeps going around and around, quite tiring.

    • Not so great this year in my opinion, RE003 have gone up in price like crazy

    • magically, 3 tyres are the same price as 4 were before the sale.

  • What tyre?

Buy online, freight to a local fitter near you. I did this - got Pirelli's cheap and my local Toyota dealership workshop fitted & balanced them - all included.
www.tyresales.com.au are having a spring sale.

Any comments of offers from COSTCO?
    Always rubbish?
    Always excellent?

For members that is, so no issues on that aspect.

    • yes wondering about that also - anyone could comment please, worth a trip out there?

I got bridgestone to price match costco near me

Bought my last set of tyres from Costco. Bought online, fitted the next weekend. Wait for fitting was quite long, wouldn't recommend doing it on a weekend!

They were the best value on the market though. If you're a member, it's a no-brainer.

Great to hear about your experience.

Was that an everyday price or one of their special offers?

        • It was a buy 3 get 1 free offer, though it was a manufacturer's offer, so most tyre places had it. Costco just had the best price to begin with.

just buy PS5 now and move on before they get more expensive

    • Good rubber, definitely an improvement over the PS4 and noise reduction is noticeable.

  • Two brands have been mentioned upthread.

Michelin Pilot Sport 4/5 and Bridgestone Potenza 003 Adrenalin.

I have bought initially Michelin PS4 and then 2 years later replaced with Bridgestone 003 in 215/55/17 when the PS4 was deleted.

Prior to that on the same car, 2004 Mitsubishi Magna All Wheel Drive, I bought BS 003 in 215/60/16.

The 003 was much better on the same wheels on the same car than the original BS Turanza 215/60/16.

The 003 in 16" was reasonable, spoiled by stock factory alloys that were too narrow, causing excessive wear on outer shoulders.

Replaced with Mich. PS4 on wider VRX 17" factory alloys were very good in all respects except shorter than expected life of 2 yrs.

Replaced with BS 003 of the same size 215/55/17 and I consider them at least equal to the Michelin, but with less wear.

Base on similar usage, I estimate that the BS 003 will last 50% longer than the Michelin, with no noticeable decrease in grip.

I see that the PS 5 is being made in my size again, but the BS 003 is giving me no reason(s) to go back to Michelin.

I drive my rural miles enthusiastically, on pressures of 38psi front/36 psi rear.

No punctures/balance issues with any of the above in almost 8 years of driving my fantastic AWD Magna with 380 conversion.

P.S I generally purchase my tyres on the buy 3 get 4th free from Bob Jane Nowra, who also do excellent wheel alignments.
