As someone buying this Week One, it kinda hurts :(

You went week one. Never go week one.( Unless nice floggable GWP).

        Learned my lesson sir!

        Never go week one

One of the OzBargain 10 commandments, right up with "buy first, ask what it is second", "never pre-order", and "HODL".

Only 2 crazy times, in history, it turned out better to break this rule:

        • buying NVIDIA 3000 series at initial launch for MSRP

        • buying the Ryzen 3 3300x at launch

What about the PS5 launch, Sir?

          • +1

@Grey 13: Following the commandment for the consoles wasn't as bad because you could still buy it afterwards for the same price.

The above two, prices rose crazily after launch (and stayed there for years).

Bought this from the recent Kmart sale, and was missing an unbelievable amount of pieces. Luckily they were common pieces and we were able to finish the build, but shocking. Contacted lego and they said they could send out the pieces, but didn’t want to wait months for them

Also, I suggest https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-112957/SleepyCow/optimuss-h… this head as the one on there looks not right. Used an Aussie bricklink seller and got the extra pieces in a couple of days for $3

    • Anything to fix that crappy looking neck?

  • Do these still hold their value if you open them ? Or are they only an investment if you are one of the weird people that keep unopened toy boxes everywhere…

Build it , enjoy it , don’t lose any pieces , keep the instructions in nice condition and in a few years time when your sick of it you will at the very least get your money back,
LEGO release way too many sets now and most of it is rubbish. Set like this though will hold up nicely. To be sure there will be more transformers to come.

    • I won’t buy opened LEGO to prevent any chance of missing pieces.

        Buy it assembled 😎

        • And get random substituted pieces in it.

      • second this, i've purchased a few "100%" complete sets and its either had missing parts/stickers or substituted pieces, and if ebay is anything to go by, the second the lego is out of the box it loses a lot of its value

Lego isn't an investment. If you want an investment look into something that generates an income.

      Otherwise it's speculation.

  • Good price, problem with waiting for Costco is you don't know if they are going to get a specific set and this one sold out almost everywhere at RRP.

  • Hmm I will have a look at the store later

    • Just don't buy, inflation won't affect you
