On sale is this Deco 2 pack mesh WiFi 6 router that works out to be $40.55 cheaper than the AU stock deal if you don't mind waiting a little bit longer for Amazon UK stock. I picked up the Deco M5 in the previous Officeworks deal for my grandparents and was surprised at how easy it was to setup.

Another bonus is that you can easily add other Deco models to your current mesh network through the app. So if you already have some Deco routers and want to add more range or WiFi 6 this is a good option. Or if you're looking to start out.

  • Faster Connections: Wi-Fi 6 speeds up to 1,800 Mbps—1,201 Mbps on 5 GHz and 574 Mbps on 2.4 GHz; Total Security: WPA3 encryption and TP-Link HomeCare
  • Connect More Devices: OFDMA and MU-MIMO technology quadruple capacity to enable simultaneous transmission to more devices. System requirements: Android 4.4 or later and iOS 9.0 or later
  • Boosted Seamless Coverage: Achieve seamless whole home coverage with a clearer and stronger whole home Wi-Fi signal generated by Wi-Fi 6
  • Ultra-Low Latency: Greater reduction in latency enables more responsive gaming and video chatting
  • Total Security: WPA3 encryption and TP-Link HomeShield provide personalized features, including Parental Controls, Antivirus, and Quality of Service (QoS) to ensure a safer online experience

  • Cheap as chips!

    • In the UK, they are crisps.

Wouldn’t this have a UK plug?

    • would like to know too

  • +2

It will be with UK plug

  • Beside cheaper price for uk stock, will the router behave just the same way as AU stock?

    • +2

      No.

UK approved wifi channels are different to AU approved wifi channels.

      UK wifi5 is weak.

      • Then why people buying these weak wifi 5 routers from UK?

        • Partly because they want to save money, partly because they don't know about different channels, and partly because they don't understand internet at all and will call up their ISP to complain they aren't getting the speed they are paying for, despite their own self sabotage.

Why wouldn't you get the Asus and run AI Mesh or custom firmware rather than Tplink? I had M5 triple and got rid of it as it had little to no customisation

    • +9

You assume that every end user wants to run and fiddle with custom firmware? Some people just want an easy out of the box solution that just works and TP Link Deco is exactly that.

      Not everyone are power users.

Sure but they have that with AI Mesh if they want it.

Id rather have the ability to set things if I want to rather than not - each to their own.

        • +1

I also like to set my wifi channels to my favourite numbers.

I hear what you are saying, and originally thought the same. If you like to play\tinker then this probably isn't for you.
If you just want excellent performance and excellent WiFi, and happy for standard options then this is a good choice.
I recently moved to this, I have a complicated home setup, including Firewall, Web Servers, Security Cameras, VoIP, Plex, Pi-Hole DNS and this does everything I need.
Still wish it had a web interface though…:)

  • The plug is already bulky enough without an adapter. Better off purchasing the Australian version with same-day delivery from Amazon rather than the cost and hassle of additional adapters.
3 node version is still $303 at the GGC, seems a much better option.
