    Horizon Forbidden West PS4 - $44.50

Seems to be all time lowest, and free upgrade to PS5 too

    • Seems to be the same with Gran Turismo 7 PS4 @ $44.50 - https://www.target.com.au/p/gran-turismo-7-playstation-4/663…

        Not free PS5 upgrade, $15 I think

        • Source? I can’t see anywhere that says it is $15 to upgrade

Wow, it's never been a better time to be a gamer. Games drop so quickly now.

I remember me and my siblings paying $120 AUD for N64 games in the 90s.

      • Only a few select third parties were charging $120. I think Acclaim with the Turok games was the main culprit.

        • +1

First party games were at least still $90-$100

  • Sweet deal

  • Target website getting OzBargained?

  • Central perk 59.50

Are the Pokémon games really that bad to go on sale pretty quick?

    • +7

Games aren't bad, just not worth the full value if originally sold for. I think around these prices they are good value

    • +6

SP/BD were considered poor remakes by the fans, but the casuals don't care all that much. In comparison to recent years, it was a letdown.

With a little over a month to go, props better to wait for Gen 9

    • There are new ones inbound in november I thought. Cadence of every 9 months seems to be a new one.

Mario Strikers: Battle League Football, is it a good one?

    • +1

I only played the demo, but I didn’t particularly like it. I also heard Online sucks

The overall game is really fun.

The amount of content in the game is limited though which the game is getting ciritised for.

For this price I would say its worth it though.

    • I picked it up from Target at the weekend and there is enough fun to be had to cover $34.50…. I'm happy however that I cancelled my original pre-order on Amazon just before it was first released as not sure I would consider it $69 worth of value. Suspected it would drop quickly, thanks OP for the heads up.

Legend OP, I’ve been waiting for Strikers to dropppp. Thank you ❤️

  • Thank-you OP 🙇‍♂️ Will add Strikers at this price to the Ninty first-party collection

  • Thanks, all xmas presented sorted

  • Thank you op!

Thank you so much for the post!

My kid wanted Mario Strikers for a long time but I didn't think it was worth full price. Will keep as kid's Xmas present and hopefully by then all the updates will make it worth playing.

wow nice. that was a quick price drop on the strikers. grabbed one. cheers.

  • Pokémon Shinning Pearl on Amazon has just dropped to $34.50

  • +1

Went to Brisbane Myer Centre Target and staff said the price is online only and is full price in store :( should’ve bought online and C&C, was not aware of this…

    • Sounds like BS

      • +4

Target Browns Plains said the exact same thing to me. I ordered click and collect instead and came back an hour later. I should have just walked to EB and asked them to price match but too late now.

I think its absolute bullshit when stores do this kind of thing. Just wasted my time (and their employees time) for the exact same end result.

        • +1

Target have done this to me before. I ended up talking to the manager, who price matched their online store for me.

    • I was told the same at Springfield Orion however after checking with a manager they did a price match for me.

    • +1

I can confirm this. Wasted a trip to the store, I could try ordering online right there and then but it takes time for them to process a C&C order. How hard is it to state on the website that it is online only?

      • It does state on the front page of their website that it's Online Only:

ONLINE ONLY OFFER - ENDS 14 SEP
        30-50% OFF
        Selected Toys & Gaming*

But it just doesn't state it on the product pages themselves, bit of an oversight on their part.

        • Thanks, I can see that now. Actually, if you click on the link for the main listing, some items are marked online only but some are not, so confusing.

  • My 5 year old has asked for a Pokémon Switch game for his birthday. Would either of these be ok for a first Pokémon game for a young kid? Or do I need to spend more and get Let’s Go?

    • +1

These will be perfect. These have the older style gameplay though as they are remakes of games from the Nintendo DS.

I personally prefer the older style games but some prefer the newer games.

      • +1

        Thank you :)

        • No worries Diamond and Pearl are basically the same game so no need to buy both.

The differences include slightly different pokemon that can be caught.

So just choose which box art looks better. The pokemon on the cover is the legendary pokemon that can be caught in that specific game.

          • @Circly: One thing to note though.

Pokemon Go is probably a bit easier for a 5 year old to play.

The older style games had a slightly higher difficulty. I first played pokemon when I was 8/9 and it was fine but it may be more die for a 5 year old.. There is some reading involved in pokemon games.

So that should be considered as well.
