How to make a new Turkish Apple ID?

  1. Create a Turkish Apple ID by going to https://appleid.apple.com/account

  2. Follow the onscreen steps. In the mobile number section, use your Australian mobile number (Very important to use a valid number or risk losing your ID). Choose the country as Turkey. Then follow through the rest to create your ID.

  3. Login into Apple ID on a browser. Go to this link to enter a Turkish address (you can get a random address here) to your Turkish Apple ID. Select payment method as "none" and save.

  4. Go to Settings on your iPhone/iPad > Your Name > Media and Purchases > Log out from your current ID and login with your Turkish Apple ID

Loading your Turkish Apple ID with Turkey (aka Türkiye for those OCD) Gift Cards

  1. Buy TL (₺) iTunes gift cards (Make sure you only buy Turkish ones, only comes in 25 TRY and 50 TRY denominations) from TurGame > Choose currency as TL/TRY See how and pay with a debit/credit card (use a card that has no international transaction fees to avoid the any extra costs). All transactions will have a certain "Payment Partner Fee" attached - at checkout, choose "Credit or debit card - PAYTR" for the lowest payment partner fee (it's very small)

  2. Redeem iTunes gift cards by going to App Store > Account (located at right top corner) > Redeem gift cards or code.

Downloading TradingView

  1. Once signed in with your Turkish Apple ID, download TradingView from the app store. If you already have TradingView installed using your Australian Apple ID, skip this step

  2. Once downloaded, restart your device (this ensures the pricing shows up as TRY and not AUD)

Important Steps for the TradingView Annual Subscription (must read)

  1. Boot up the app and sign up or sign in. Click on Menu > Upgrade Now. You should be able to see Turkish Lira prices for monthly subscriptions. You will not see any annual subscriptions, nor be able to subscribe to it directly from the app, but I've found a loophole to get around this.

  2. Subscribe to the lowest plan (₺274,99 lira).

  3. Once subscribed, refresh the app. Go to Menu > Settings > Subscription (this subscription option will not appear if you haven't subscribed). Click on "Manage Subscription (Do not click on "Change Plan"). This will take you to all your Apple subscriptions. Click on the TradingView subscription and you should see all the plans listed on the table above. Choose your desired plan and save.

Note: This step means that you will need to load a bit more ₺274,99 lira more worth of GCs as you've technically subscribed to both subscriptions. But don't worry, as Apple will refund the initial transaction (monthly plan) back to your Apple ID Balance after a few days (you'll get invoices etc) while they process the annual subscription.

      Subscription should get linked to your TradingView account and you should then be able to use it wherever you login.

    If you already have TradingView installed using your Australian Apple ID, delete it and redownload using your Turkish ID

    You should be able to use the same app. So far I haven’t had any issue with apps downloaded with AU Apple ID.

    Which price tiers get live ASX pricing?

    Is it substantially worthwhile to hack premium @ $236 over simply paying for Pro @ $214.99 (which can be paid with discounted cards)?

      gift cards aren’t discounted? unless you can tell us how we can get them discounted :)

      No tiers come with live trading data, you have to add it on manually for an extra small cost on their website ($US pricing)

      Not sure about ASX though

              @mandelbrot: Get apple support app and try asking them for pro rata refund. Don’t mention anything about switching over to Turkey. This will only work if you signed up via Apple app.

                    @Pricebeat: I haven't tried for a refund, but for an upgrade, it gives you less.

                    For example: You purchase a Pro+ annual subscription at 50% discount (paying $150 USD instead of $300 USD). Later down the track, you want to upgrade to a Premium account, the cost to upgrade is at the original price (i.e. $600 USD), so your original $150 only credits you 3 months of Premium subscription (not 6 months).

                    Hope that makes sense.

      Priced in USD on their website, priced in AUD on the iOS app. A huge rip off

      It’s about $399USD on the US app store for the annual premium plan, $599AUD for AU app store.

      It takes a bit longer during daytime (between 5 mins up to an hour or 2) but if you do it at night it's very fast

      It will come, don't stress. Just make sure you have an account, never use guest checkout for these things

    and once I'm at the last step to edit subscription I press on See All Plans and nothing shows up.
