1TB Usenet Block Account for $40 USD with NewsGroupDirect.com - Terabyte Tuesday deal

120

Repeat of the earlier 550GB block account deal for $20 deal from NewsGroupDirect.com but this time its 1TB (1.1TB including headers) as part of their Terabyte Tuesday deals. They are a Highwinds Reseller. No Paypal.

I quote from here:

http://www.newsgroupdirect.com/blog/2012/06/12/terabyte-tues…

Terabyte Tuesday means 1.1 Terabyte usenet accounts for $40 (60% off the normal rate)! Our 1 TB block account includes a 10% header allowance, bringing the total to 1.1 TB. The sale runs from 12 AM EST on June 12 until 12 AM EST on June 13. Our 1 Terabyte usenet block has access to our world-class retention (currently over 1,390 days), speed, completion, and our industry-leading customer service. NewsgroupDirect blocks never expire, so you can buy as many blocks as you want and never worry about losing them.

It works out to 40.51 AUD. Blocks never expire.

        Oh sxxt.. didn't read that.

Would be because of that dam takeover -.-

They better lower the prices then!

      • Snuffy,
Why have you negged the deal without any reason?

      • Snuffy

I think you mistook voting the comment down with voting down the deal. You comment is directed at the internode comment above you rather than the original deal.

hence vote removed as its in error

    so tempting

  • What I want to know is do "NewsGroupDirect.com" host certain 'binaries' for backup* games and movies?

    *Stuff I own of course.

    • +10

If you don't know, then the answer is: no, they only host linux iso's.

      First rule of usenet club…

  • 9 bucks a month on astra is better

    • Depends how much you use. So block accounts may be better for people that don't use to much. If your in that groups this is an awesome deal.

For unlimited I'm happy with my Thundernews Unlimited Black Friday $5 a month deal from a while back w/Blocknews for fills.

    The 1st rule of Usenet….

is that it's been around before the load of you WWW's got on here, it doesn't matter if you talk about it or not, now Gopher on the other hand….

        Archie ftw.

  • I think you don't need to get a newsgroup subscription as somebody pointed before in a similar post. The Age app is free to download.

    Typing this from personal experience.

    • +1

Yes but I can't get 1.1TB of news from The Age.

      • +2

1.1tb of legal usenet text posts is an awful lot of data

  • -6

in terms of content how do newsgroups compare up with torrents and direct links(warez)?

    • +4

There's no content on newsgroups…it's all text only. And ISO's…lots and lots of Linux ISO's…almost 1.1TB of it.
      whistles innocently

in terms of content how do newsgroups compare up with torrents and direct links(warez)?

You have been banned from Usenet for talking about it.

Now I have to ban myself because of you.

    • I never said illegal content? why am I being negged? I was just wondering what sort of content was on it, since it is called "newsgroup"… People are too quick to judge these days… I almost always buy my games..=='

  • Still seems to be open - is it really expired?
