AirAsia COVID Vaccine Mandate

Do AirAsia still require customers to have had the COVID jabs? I know Malaysia has dropped all restrictions, but can't see anything to suggest AirAsia has dropped their jab mandate.

Probably easier to just get the vaccine than post this on ozb

Pretty sure it's easier to type up this query, rather than book an appointment, travel to a location to wait and then get the jab. Plus there might be a reason why op may prefer not to get a jab/another jab, if they don't need to.

There are lots of places you don't have to book an appointment

I'm pretty sure there might be a reason why AirAsia might prefer vaccinated passengers.

Probably easier to contact the airline

    Is that you, Novak?

I'd assume if you can't find it on their website then it isn't current. I'm also heading to Malaysia soon but am flying Qantas which definitely has dropped mandates….. but even when they were active, I never got asked to produce a certificate when flying interstate.

There's this from June, but all restrictions into Malaysia were dropped last month.

So there would be no reason for AirAsia to continue with their mandates unless it's some irrational ideological belief.

Their customer support is a chat app that suggests links which is no help.

I might call have to call the airport direct.

Chance are low anyone would ask at this point but you might always get stuck with some jobsworth.

Well we've been a safe environment for antivaxxers and covid deniers for the last two years, whereas they've been entirely removed from other platforms. They're a minority, but they're suuuuuuuuper vocal on here.
It's only natural that eventually people would come here specifically because of it.

I know, it's hard to concentrate on anything over all the cries of "We told you so!"

Hahaha I will tell you where i was not removed from. My singapore airlines flight or Thailand during my 4 weeks there that ended on Sunday

Happy days for the unvaccinated, holidays are back and the lack of possible stroke is GREAT :-)

I forgot my old password is all. AirAsia had some flight deals on here yesterday, so thought this would be a good place to ask and the information useful to anyone else in the same boat.

There are numerous doctors and scientists who say all kinds of random crap. Just because you found someone who is saying what you agree with doesn't make it right.

Conversely on the other side of the spectrum we have unsubstantiated information from pro-vax doctors/scientists too. Where was the data that showed it was safe and effective? Oh right, it was just one obscure study and then multiple other studies that contradict it and showed it was decreasing in efficacy… It's literally a meme now.

Just because you found someone who is saying what you agree with doesn't make it right.

Almost everyone is bought and paid for on both sides.

From just asking questions to "both sides!"

The data showing it is safe and effective was done through multiple studies and then backed up by the massive decline in deaths after the vaccine was released. The decreasing efficacy was expected, as it is with any mutating virus. It's why the flu vaccine doesn't provide long term protection and why some viruses we don't have vaccines for, while others provide protection for years/decades. This is all pretty basic stuff.

You'll also find that "pro-vax doctors/scientists" includes almost all doctors and scientists, because vaccines are generally seen as a good thing and a very basic form of proactive medical treatment. It's not like it's a grey area of medical science, there should be no question that vaccines can trigger an immune reaction to fight viruses.

@freefall101: The idea of "both sides" needing to be considered is ridiculous when one "side" is 99+% of the scientific and evidence-based research community and the other side is the lunatic fringe, religious nutbags and conspiracy theorists who seem to think they should get equal representation.

Sadly, this seems to be occurring in an increasing number of areas (vaccinations, the holocaust, moon landings, climate change, flat earth etc etc )

@freefall101 / @slow - when you have some downtime, you will learn a lot from the doctors in the videos showed above, the data and their extensive research. Far from lunatics and nutbags saying all kinds of 'random crap'. From your comments it is clear you have not taken the time to.

Goes to show how effective the establishment and vested interests have been in solidifying a narrative suggesting anyone who questions the effectiveness or general wisdom of this medical treatment being coerced on people is a nutcase or general lunatic. As someone who experienced some still lasting side effects I would only hope people would have some empathy for those who dare to think otherwise at least on experience and maybe if they're feeling generous empathy based on the fact that people want to make decisions for themselves by themselves.
