Another awesome bundle from Humble Bundle. A lot of value to be found here even if you own most of it. Alien VS Predator Collection, and the Pinball tables are being bundled for the first time. In a bit of a rush so please let me know if I made any mistakes. I'll try to get back to this a little later.

Oh yes, tier 2 the pricing may be a bit off. It shows two different prices for me (just a few cents).

  • Any good coop games here?

    • +4

The LEGO games are. Someone please correct me if this is wrong; I believe Steam has a Remote Play option for the lego games so people can play online.

    • +21

Depends by what specific type of co-op play you're after: online, local/couch, local/splitscreen ?

      Game Co-Op Features Notes
Aliens vs. Predator (2010) 4-player online co-op Survival mode with Marines vs. waves of Aliens
Aliens: Colonial Marines 4-player online co-op. Drop in/Drop Out Each of the 4 players assumes a Colonial Marine when completing story missions
LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens 2-player local/couch co-op. Drop in/Drop Out Two players can play through the entirety of the game's campaign and additional adventures
LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga 2-player local/couch co-op. Drop in/Drop Out A second player can jump in at any time and take control of the second character
LEGO Star Wars: The Clone Wars 2-player local/couch co-op. Drop in/Drop Out Players will control multiple teams in separate locations in co-op

Thanks for the great well formatted details!

      • +2

Seconding the thanks! Worth more than just an upvote for the effort!

  • +4

Seems like one of those bundles where most people would have at least one of the games, however the bundle still seems great. Haven't played a pinball video game since the late 90's! And always wanted to play Full Throttle and Day of the Tentacle again.

    • +1

One of the biggest drawcards for me is the pinball. I do enjoy pinball when I get around to firing it up. Need to try to get it going on my portrait monitor again. Can't remember if I got it working last time. Been so long…

      • +1

If you love Pinball, I recommend the Pro Pinball Series if you haven't already. They are extremly well made and simulated tables and the Time Shock! table was remade a few years ago in stunning graphical detail and is available on steam.

I think all the original games can be had for free as they are abandonware as far as I can remember.

        • Thanks for the info. I'll keep an eye out for it.

      • +2

If you REALLY love pinball then get Visual Pinball X … completely free and an amazing community of developers that have recreated literally thousands of pinball tables.

        www.vpforums.org

        https://vpuniverse.com/files/

Search for Visual Pinball all in one installer, or get "Baller Installer".

It is truly amazing when set up in cabinet mode with 2 or more screens, force feedback etc.

        https://www.nailbuster.com/wikipinup/doku.php?id=baller_inst…

Does take a bit of time to get used to how to get the tables/roms/backglass files etc but very addictive and new table are being mostly released/updated daily.

Support for anaglyph 3D modes, so good.

There is also a VR fork, havent tried it but looks incredible and supports LOTS of tables.

        • Sounds like a very deep and possibly expensive rabbit hole. I'll take a look when I get the chance.

          • +1

@ozbs25: Certainly a rabbit hole, but all tables and software are free. Find yourself an old desk and a 40"-43" 1080p TV for playfield and perhaps a 32" for backglass screen and you are on your way. I just have a couple of roadside rubbish screens that I picked up for free, one needed a slight repair. I then just use a wireless keyboard as the controller, but plenty of people build full blown cabinets with proper buttons/plunger/feedback exciters etc.

            • +1

@Gravy: 100% agree - VPX is the business. You'll find just about any table you can think of.

That VR fork is astonishing, too. I play mine on a Quest 2, and I reckon if you're a pinball nerd, VRVPX justifies buying a Quest 2, it's that good :-)

              • +2

@encoderboy: I’ve got a quest 2 but don’t have a pc with enough grunt at the moment. Have the quest pinball FX VR on it though and the Star Wars tables.

Have you seen where things are heading with a rework of visual pinball at https://docs.visualpinball.org/creators-guide/introduction/o…

Release for VPE is probably quite a way off yet though.

                • +1

@Gravy: Wow.. no, I hadn't seen that! VP is an amazing community..

Humble Bundle has been coming out with some excellent bundle packages lately - 2K Megahits, Level-Up and Learning Programming Games and others (e.g. Fantastic Journeys: Middle-Earth and Beyond, Dungeons: The Complete Trilogy) … and now this.

Any bundle that includes certified hits such as Knights of the Old Republic and KotOR II: The Sith Lords, Jedi Academy, Jedi Outcast, and the newer LEGO Star Wars games, as well as remastered versions of LucasArts classics Full Throttle, Grim Fandango, Day of the Tentacle … is definitely good value.

    Friendly Reminder

    • Consider using the 'Adjust Donation' -> Custom Amount field to change the default values in order to give less of your money to the publishers / Humble, and more to the charity Starlight Foundation
    • +3

I already own most of these (some many times over) just like the 2K Megahits one. I'll give a larger portion of the payment to the charity like I did for that one. Only seems fair really. I've given all of these publishers a lot of my money over the years.

      • +1

I was on the fence with the 2K Megahits bundle's tiers … I also already own most of the games in that bundle's Tier 1, I wasn't interested in most of the games within Tier 2 (not even Duke Nukem Forever) … and in Tier 3, the only games I could be interested in, would be Mafia: Definitive Edition and maybe XCOM: Ultimate Collection (although I already have XCOM: Enemy Unknown and XCOM: Enemy Within).

… but then this Starlight Bundle comes along, Tier 2 has a few titles (especially the remastered versions of Lucasarts' DotT, FT, GF; Aliens: CM) that I don't have. Tier 3's Star Wars: The Force Unleased Ultimate Sith Edition I might be interested in, but the Pinball games not so much … I also happen to already own LEGO Star Wars (Complete Saga and The Clone Wars) via GOG.

I wasn't planning on spending on more than 1 good-value-for-money Humble Bundle package in a given month, then all of a sudden a few of them appear within days of each other haha

        • +1

I've spent so much money at Humble lately. I've even gotten a book bundle and may get another one before it ends. I want to post one of them but the OzBargain's auto moderator kind of blocks it. I may try tomorrow.

Our spending is very different these days. We don't really go out much, so all of our disposable income goes towards stuff we can use around the house. We'll probably be in for quite a shock once we start to venture out. Keep hearing about how expensive everything is…

  • +1

Thanks OP. Always have been looking for a good bundle for the KOTOR 1 & 2. Bit weird for me to say this but I've never played any of these classic Bioware games. Started with Jade Empire and then Dragon Age Origins which imo are some of the best W-RPG of all time.

    • +3

Jade Empire, now there was a brilliant game that everyone seems to have forgotten!

      • +1

I played the shit out of it when I was 12. Good old times!

  • I'm wondering if you already have some of the games (I have several) in your Steam library can you give the codes to someone? If so how is this done, do I have to select the gift option when I buy the package?

    • +2

There are rumblings that Humble Bundle can ban your account if you gift away too many of your keys. I don't think they can track your steam keys once you've generated them though. Your best bet would be to reveal the key to yourself then send the steam key to whoever you need to by whatever secure means you can. I wouldn't leave it open in a forum for example.

I would also refrain giving your keys to people you don't really know. There was someone on /r/humblebundles who said that some of his keys were revoked after he traded them away. Maybe those keys were used in the wrong region (if that's possible?), maybe sold to a grey market dealer or something to that effect. I don't think Humble mind you gifting your keys but I guess it's like anything, if it looks like you are "exploiting the Products … in any manner other than for your own private, non-commercial, personal use." then you could find your keys revoked and your account banned.

      • Thanks ozbs25 for this very detailed explanation, I really appreciate all this info! The only thing I'm wondering now is can I just buy the package normally or should I check the box that says "This purchase is a gift". I if I just buy it as normal, then I get each key and I can then gift the keys I don't need to someone else, by just copy and pasting it to them, so no need the use gift purchase option?

        • +2

I'm pretty sure to achieve what you want to do, you'll need to purchase the bundle yourself. I've never gifted a bundle before but I'm guessing if you choose the gift option when purchasing, access to the bundle will only be available to the person you choose when you enter their email. I think if you send the gift email to yourself it's just so you can send access to that same page to them yourself?

If you purchase the bundle yourself, you'll have access to the bundle page which will just be a big list of the games with the choice of "Reveal your Steam Key" and "Gift to a friend" beneath each one. Reveal and redeem the ones you want to keep for yourself. The rest, as mentioned earlier, it's probably best to just reveal the keys then copy and paste those keys in some soft of private message to your mate.

          • +1

@ozbs25: Thanks ozbs25 That's really good news, this helps me a lot! Seems Humble Bundle made it really simple. Thanks for such a good explanation of this, I really appreciate your help 😃

        • +1

Once the bundle is purchased and in your library, I notice you then get a choice for each individual game to "Reveal Steam key" or "Gift to a friend".

So I wouldn't bother ticking that box at the checkout stage to gift the whole thing.

          • +1

@rel: Thanks for your advice, I will just purchase as normal, Cheers rel 👍

      • +1

I would be pretty surprised if Humble Bundle are looking at Steam records to see which accounts keys are being redeemed to. Certainly in the case of a user buying just 1 bundle anyway.

If you are buying 30 bundles then yeah, maybe…

        • +1

What ive found is they just resrict further purchases of that bundle. When they had a bundle with computer building simulator and the dlc's i purchased a few for gifts. After the 5th one they said ive purchased too many and wouldnt let me get anymore. I wws still wble to buy other bundles

    Day of the Tentacle Remastered

    • Thanks but someone else already claimed day of the tentacle

  • -2

Great cause but gee whiz the 3rd tier is massively overpriced. I have bought it anyway but other than 3 ancient full games it's just pinball table DLC for a what is a free base game pinball simulator…

    • +2

So you mean the $2 to go from Tier 2 to Tier 3?

Lego Star Wars the Complete saga's all time low is $2.70. LEGO Star Wars III: The Clone Wars' all time low is $4.01 and has never been bundled according to ITAD. Still another game and all the pinball DLC to go. Seems pretty good for $2.

      • -1

If you buy on Kinguin you can beat those ITAD prices pretty easily.

        • Yeah no thanks.

  • The Starlight Bundle offer is still live and is not expired - it appears that the offer period's end date has been extended to Saturday, 1 October 2022 11:00 am AEST

    • +1

Thanks. Hopefully I've done the expiry correctly.

  • For the 2003 BioWare videogame Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic that is included in this Starlight Bundle, one of its in-game lore bits was just recently canonized in the current live-action Star Wars series Andor

    • +1

Hope to watch it at some stage. Still got a lot of catching up to do.
