    pretty sure i paid around $30 for these a couple of months back

    • really? where/when

      I can't recall seeing them below $45…

      I've got ~22 of these, great except I'd have liked the coloured ones for my kids room

      • +2

        i'll check my orders later and find the exact price i paid.

      • I jut noticed, mine are the GU10, so they are hard wired. I just replaced my existing LED's and removed the transformers.

        I got these for $196.32 ( 3 x 2pk = 6 globes)
        and there was a $109.25 promotion subtracted

        so i paid $106.69 for 6 globes in total…

        Currently they are $33 per globe if you buy more than 1 pack (ie. 4 globes or more).

          Yeah comparing a bulb to a totally different light (that includes power supply & housing) isn’t really apples to apples.

          • @Carrera1963: The GU10 has the power supply built in. It connects direct to 240V. Does not need a transformer.

            So the only difference is no power plug.

              @jv: It’s still a lightbulb

              • @Carrera1963: Yep, and it works great as a replacement for existing downlights.

                • @jv: As long as you’ve the gu10 fixture, otherwise sparky required

        • The GU10 bulbs are great for bed reading lights, mood lighting in a home cinema, but at 350lm not ideal for large spaces without going heavy.

          The Garnea are 600lm. 6 of these light our 8x5 living well.

            @cycloneaussie:

            but at 350lm not ideal for large spaces

            They are brighter than the 60W downlights they replaced.

    • Never seen that cheap unfortunately

        The price was for the GU10 white ambience. My bad.

    Price beat at Bunnings?

    • worth a shot

    • I asked Bunnings to price beat, but they only beat the first one by 10% then every one thereafter is a ‘price match’. I ended up buying from Amazon and bought gift cards for 3% off from Macquarie Marketplace. I keep adding a few more each sale. They really are great! I was worried about the brightness. But I’m replacing a 9W day white LED with these and I can barely tell the difference in brightness with the naked eye.

    • Bunnings are selling for $49.95, so I did a price beat, which they honoured. Fortunately I only wanted 1.

  • They were previously ~$51 down from $79 on Amazon
    Few extra bucks off

    • Yep - and Bunnings had them at $51.95 in August

    Difference between these and the 9 dollar philips yellow ones that are 800 lumen?

    • +2

      Hue connectivity

    • These are smarter

      • bound by a dumb switch though? if someone turns it off on the wall its no longer smart?

        • Correct it's always frustrating having guests over who aren't used to hue products and turn the switches off

  • Other Philips Smart kits/bulbs and all too are discounted on amazon

    Now $49 at JB Hi-fi with no 5 unit limit : https://www.jbhifi.com.au/products/philips-hue-white-ambianc…
