iPhone 14 Pro Max 1TB Where to Get Cheaper Ones?

The best I can think of is to buy 10% off JB cards and pay that way…
Any better discount I can think of?

$2700 isn’t cheap.

Do you really need a 1TB one? 256 GB one iCloud storage seems more appropriate for most use cases (except maybe RAW photography capture).

    • I’ve exhausted all 256GB
And I do not prefer cloud at all.

      • +1

I used to be like that too then bit the bullet and iCloud has been quite seamless and works very well.

Another option is a lightning USB stick by Sandisk or similar to move photos/videos onto.

Apple's storage upgrade prices are simply extortionate.

      • +9

ICloud is half the point of being in Apple’s ecosystem

    • Perhaps he wants to record a lot of 4K video.

      • +1

Yeah I do a lot of video shooting 4K

        • +5

There are things such as external hard drives/laptops for data management

        • SanDisk iXpand 256G costs slightly over $100 online…

  • +3

Thats a lot of 4k corn.

I'd definitely look into a cloud subscription or deleting half your files. I've struggled to fill 128gb for years.

    • +3

You can't even record in 4K Pro Res with less than 256GB storage.

      • people without macs sure care a lot about prores

      • +2

Really? Classic apple. Create a problem and charge for a solution.

I had a look. Need 256gb or more. Apple says a one-minute 10-bit ProRes video is approximately 1.7GB in 1080p and approximately 6GB in 4K.

I can think of an easier way to get a cheap iphone and save 800+ $

Spend 5 minutes designing a better workflow and get that data off your device.

    Cloud, Laptop, USB Stick etc.

Get outta here with your LoGiC.

    • Any recommendations on a workflow with cheap cloud?

    • +35

      Then you're definitely spending $2700.

Any better discount I can think of?

Yes. wait until there is a sale on, when 15 is announced :)

  • +1

Sell your current one or trade-in? Usually, it's very uncommon to get huge discounts on new iPhone products. To my eyes, your options are minimal, either lower your requirement from 1TB for a small size for storage or, get a large USB drive compatible with a lightning port and transfer your recorded hi-res to the portable drive (or a thumbstick, whatever it is).

Frankly, this is something I couldn't understand. People, who have a need for hi-res video recording, shouldn't they store the files elsewhere to keep them safe? Also, if you intend to store all the video content solely on the iPhone, where are you going to edit them, just on the iPhone?

    $2700 on a phone😳

    • +2

You can impress the girl at the coffee shop that way

      • +4

She cant tell the size of your ahem storage just by looking a the phone though.

        • It's called a conversation starter :)

  • +5

Would two iPhone 7 512GB be okay? Or four iPhone 3GS 256GB..

  • +3

at last a new topic that hasnt been done…

  • Have you considered buying a 512gb model?

      • +18

Then stop your whining and cough up the $2700

  • +2

    lol

    The meanest group so far.
I was literally asking if there’s a discount on 1TB model.
I can get it at JB hifi for 10% off because of gift card.

I just wanna know if there’s any other discount I can find.

    • Well, you are on ozbargain.

Try the apple education store. $2,599. You can buy discounted apple gift cards too.

Apple edu store doesn’t provide discount on iPhone??
        I think

        • Oh, I thought the RRP was $2700 as indicated by your post.

    • +3

You're asking for a discount on a phone that's not even out yet. An Apple device no less (which are notoriously difficult to get below RRP).

If it's too much money to spend then you need to take the advice given to you here and consider a smaller capacity model.

1TB on a phone is just not necessary, and before now I asked myself who the hell buys those ones. Now I know.

  • +2

1Tb version… WTF are you going to store on that? Just going to download the entire Disney+ AND Netflix catalogue for offline viewing… You know, just in case you get held up on your way to work?

My phone has 128gb and I take a shit load of photos and videos for work, make voice messages and have some other crap and apps loaded and I seriously only have about 30~ish gb used up.

    • +3

seen the queue at sydney airport on a monday lately? LMAO

      • Oh, good point. 1tb it is! :D

  • Hi that's is interesting. Can someone tell how to buy 10% off Jb Hifi gift card, please? Cheers.

  • +2

"iPhone" and "cheap" cannot be together in the same sentence haiyaaaa

  • +2

You’re not getting the responses you want, but you haven’t explained your use case.

From one of the comments someone mentioned 4K prores video. Is that why you want the 1TB? Lots and lots of 4K 6GB-per-minute video? Because that would make sense to everyone, and would prevent most of the “why not iCloud?” responses.

If you just want the 1TB for funsies then welcome to OzB.

  • whats this %10 off apple gift card, can someone link me?

  • Wait till Coles/Woolies has rewards or flybuys X20 on apple cards. Got $300 worth of flybuys buying an iphone 13.

    • Is the $300 a straightforward $300 credit that you can apply to a purchase? E.g. spend $350 at Coles and get $300 off.

      • -1

I thought it's lots of $10 off… which I sometimes am at pain to use as I break my grocery trip into $10ish bundles… potentially missing out on whatever random plastic freebie of the month is eg Harry Potter things.

  • You wait till new iPhone is announced, search on gumtree, marketplace, causal friends trying to find idiots looking to sell off 1 year old device to upgrade to new said device. This is the only way to get iPhones for cheaper than the way you described.

It sounds like the new 14 max will be a flop (like the mini) you could wait a few months and get it bigger discount than the pro and pro max models. Seeing as you specifically want the 14 pro max, I’d wait till the 15. The differences between the 14/15 are not worth $1500 upgrade (after trade in)

  • +1

Get them free from work ;)

Edit* Does usually require sleeping with the IT person.

  • Depending on both whether you'll use it for work and your employer, maybe you might be able to buy it using pre tax money and essentially get the full (rather than any income generating apportionment and depreciation) deduction upfront?
